WOW, this game is Hella COOL!! :9: It'll take some time to get used to flying but boy is it Pretty, UT3 Engine from Capcom Games.

Here's one Review in Brief::

===============================================================

Ok! I don't know how to start this. For all those that are wondering if they should buy this game, look no further. This game is a must buy for anyone looking for a twist in a 3 rd person shooter. I personally don't have the time to really get Indept with this review, but I'll let you know the things that made me fall in love with this game. In the beginnng of the game you may not fall in love with some of the movement but it's really not bad at all. Have the basic shooting elements but that's just the start, the development in the story. The vertical cover system is a nice addition to the original basics. So you go through a short stage of... wait. Sorry I forgot to tell how beautiful this game is. As soons as I laid eyes on this, I was just amazed at the atmosphere. I love the way this game look. I could be more descriptive but I want to appeal to all ages. Anyway, moving on. If you have a 360 controller then it works perfectly with it unlike other games you have to use a 3rd party software (pennicle gaming). Let's get to when you get the jetpack, at first you will just be able to boost up and glide. Even that part is fun because you can hide behind cover then boost in the air and shoot at the enemy. Sorry, forgot to mention. The enemy characters really look good. I mean they kinda remind me of the robots from irobot but they are very nicely designed. The AI is definitely smart. The will flank you in a heartbeat, move if they are being shot at and even move to a better vantage point. I don't actually want to spoil the game so let's go into the flying part. This is where my review end. Last thing I'm going to say is that's how the flying portion of this game left me, speechless. I can't explain in words how it made me feel to fly! I'll leave it up to you to find out. Trust me it's one of the best shooters with a twist I've ever played and I play everything.

===============================================================

I downloaded the DEMO from that Site I posted, 1.5mb/s, file is 1.01 GIG.

GameSpot gave it an 6.5, but I think it's a COOL ASS game!! Try it, if you like to FLY and Shoot and Board Aliens Spacecraft etc.

This game is for you. My favorite thing is NO MULTIPLAYER!! :mrgreen: Image :yahoo: :lol:

The DEMO is Great fun, enough to know if you like it!!

GOGAMER has it for 26 bucks!! Right NOW!! :9: GO:: http://www.gogamer.com/Dark-Void-for-PC ... ewprod.htm

===================================================

Overview - Dark Void is a new sci-fi action-adventure game that combines an adrenaline-fuelled blend of aerial and on-foot combat set in a parallel universe called "The Void". Players will take on the role of Will; a pilot dropped into incredible circumstances while on a routine air cargo flight crashes in the Bermuda triangle leading him to be trapped in the Void. This unlikely hero soon finds himself swept into a desperate struggle for survival at the head of a group called The Survivors. Trapped in the Void, these resistance fighters are battling to hold off a mysterious alien race that plans to threaten Earth.

Action in Dark Void is a combination of aerial dog fighting and third-person ground combat that brings a thrilling new gameplay dynamic to the third-person shooter experience. Ground combat within the game is more or less standard to action in similar games. The aerial portion, is another thing entirely though, and is facilitated by a hooverpack and even more powerful jetpack with a mounted gun that Will is equipped with. Although there are other weapons in the game, these primary weapons allow players to hurtle through the Void at blistering speeds, shooting down anything that gets in their way. Available at anytime in the game after aquired, they epitomize 3D action by introducing a unique vertical combat system full of possibilities and bringing a whole new sense of tension and thrill to the player. In addition, if they so choose players can use their aerial capabilities to counter attacks leveled at them while on the ground and to deal with spatial issues that they may face throughout the game. But just becasue the hooverpack and jetpack are available at all times, this does not mean that they are always the best option. Through trial and error as well as experience with the devices, player's must determine their best uses for each situation.

As a companion to its duel combat style, Dark Void also contains a duel cover mechanic. As with other aspects of the game's ground combat, players can expect convenient standard cover options, including a single button option to snap to cover against walls, etc. Cover options while using the hooverpack and jetpack are understandably more varied though, with players being able to utilize vertical cover options to shoot both up and down.

Product Features

* Sci-Fi action/adventure combines aerial and on-foot combat for a totally unique third-person shooter experience
* Will?s jetpack delives total freedom of movement allowing players to race against UFOs in high-speed chases and rain death from above onto unsuspecting otherworldly foes
* Speed and scale unmatched by any other action title: send Will zipping through tight corridors and then out into immense canyons and futuristic geoscapes
* Gravity-defying vertical combat system, where moving up is the only way to bring your enemies down
* Seemless transition between jetpack flight, ship-to-ship dog fighting and third-person shoot-?em-up action all exists within the same level ? not broken up into different ?areas?
* Unique grip system that allows the players to scale walls by jumping from surface to surface and hijack UFO?s while in mid-air
* Huge bosses that require fast reflexes and aerial barnstorming manoeuvres to defeat
* Developed by Airtight Studios, a new group featuring team members from the Crimson Skies series of video games

GameTrailers.com :: http://stage.gametrailers.com/video/rev ... mments_top Reviews and vids.

From what I gather all the critics whine about the story and plot etc. Who cares about that crap, you get to fly!! It's not a Game for everyone, but I'll get it.

Can't resist. Folks whine about the controls too, well there's a lot to control!! You have to learn to Hover and shot, which is a blast, flying isn't that hard either, you don't

have to get all fancy, but you can, Barrel Rolls all that. I'm sure it'll be a better deal later, but at GoGamer ya can't go wrong IMHO. There's one Patch, a Physics Patch and that's it.

If MP is your thing maybe stay away? Then again, I know of no other game quite like DARK VOID. The Robots are really cool too, and their spacecraft, grab one, and shoot the Pilot

then fly away in it, that's trippy!! The game is a solid SEVEN, I'd say, maybe more, some folks love it, some don't, usually folks with way out of date PC's. The visuals are like Lost Planet. CAPCOM is a good

publisher, I think ;)

Cool Chris!!

Let me know what you think. When Flying just steer with the mouse, hit the special maneuver key, Simple and Cool!!

I think this game is a Sleeper. Like I said folks bitch as it has no MP, and say the Story is week. What's wrong with a

SP only game? Like DARK SECTOR. Wow I love the GFX too, in both games, if you liked Lost Planet, and Dark Sector

I think you'll like DARK VOID as well. The Demo is short, but they all are these daze. At least it's not a 15 GIG Demo!! :shock:

Beats the CRAP outta IRONMAN the game. Reminds me of Mass Effect kinda too. ;)

Steam has it for 50 bucks. PS3 and 360 versions are 60 bucks. GoGamer has the best price, and you can always talk to them

great retail on-line Game Sore, GOGAMER and GOG games (for old games I still love) are Awesome. STEAM is great too.

But if your into the BOX art and Like having a Manual, GoGamer is the way to go. GOG games has PDF Manuals from the original games too

plus Wallpapers, Artwork DLC etc.

Brad Pitt will be in the Up Coming, DARK VOID MOVIE!!

Hard to fly. Mouse doesn't control right, I set the DPI all the way up and still was hard to steer. I kept running into stuff and overshooting targets. I'll see if it can work with my Saitek AV8R later tonight. Right now I got Big Daddy's to kill. :D

Hum, I didn't find flying hard really Chris~

Worked fine for me, it's ok to Bump into things, just don't hit a Mountain to Hard or you'll go down. :mrgreen:

I have it on the way, so ya might want to wait and see how I like it. Or not ;) I really like the Game at least from playing the DEMO.

Did BioShock 2 finally get the widescreen 16:9 full patch. FOV etc. I saw they have a BIG patch out, why didn't they fix it then??

Off Topic I know, but I'm not getting it until that issue among others are FIXED for Bio2.

I'm really looking forward to DARK VOID myself!! :9:

Blue

I read that the Widescreen Patch for Bio2 is out, I can't find it, just a promise is all. :banghead:

I'll go to the BioShock 2 thread and see what you had to say as well. What about ME2 is it fixed yet? LOL!! :banghead: :crazy:

Cool Chris~

Thanks for the All in ONE, news!! :D

The WS fix was supposed to be out today, but guess not (Bio2), but ME2 runs good, huh? With the patch in place, as good as the first??

Anyhow, Thanks for the NEWS!! :9: I run my games at 1900X1080 16:9 Ratio. Bioshock 2 only had 16:10 Ratio, it shipped with the screen Stretched but not actual 16:9 or Real 16:10, AFAIK.

About 1/3 the way finished with Dark Void, and I like it a lot, remember Lost Planet Extreme Condition? Well Dark Void is like that. So to speak.

Such as the Boss fights the BIG BAD Bots may drop a HUGE MG, it's the the size of me!! Holly Cow!! :shock: So I go grab it and Blast away. Really cool.

Screenshots don't look anything as nice as the game. It uses the Gears of War Cover system, only horizontal and vertical, like up hill on the Hull of an Old Ship!! :mrgreen:

It's a lot of fun you start out with a whimpy jet pack then later get the EXPERIMENTAL MODEL, and BOY does it FLY like crazy!! You can do all kinds of trick moves in the SKY

u-turns are a snap, Barrel Rolls and mix it up, hover. All that awesome stuff, never played a PC game where I felt like I was FLYING!! The plot I guess is said to be weak, but

IMHO, they all are. This game is Just a Great Time, if you get close enough to the small Bots you can Punch them out easy enough, might want to shot them first a couple

times. Use the checkpoint system of course. But nicely spaced. Al in all a LOT of FUN!! :D

BIG ASS BOT..

Bot with Tail, Big.

Ava or Eva and I (WILL).

Common Bots.
Image

Well Have a gang of PIC as always..

Here's one of Me Flying!!
Image

Game use the UT3 Engine looks Great. Bioshock looks probably Better for the most part, but then two totally

different games. ;) I enjoy it, takes awhile not long though to learn, once ya got it it's easy enough.

Playing Dark Void again, Love this game, hard to get down, but a blast once you do!! :9:

I cranked up my rez to 1900x1080 and cranked up the physics engine to max, wow what a difference!! Didn't take any screens though :roll:

I was stuck on E3 Ch2, but cleared that now I'm kicking butt in E3 Ch3 :mrgreen:

Image

You guys should give this game a whirl!! You can find it really cheap, and I think anyone with an open mind will indeed enjoy it!!

Blue

I have all the upgrades now too, whoa!!! :D
