Yeah, OK, game is beautiful. Really loving it, then it crashes. 5 times in half an hour. Not good. Going to "verify" the game files and try again. 8-)

BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams DO NOT BUY THIS GAME

Postby Mr. Chris » Wed Feb 17, 2010 4:14 pm

This is bullshit. GFWL and Steam still can't get their shit together. GFWL will not connect in this game. RFG does just fine, as does Section 8. This game is broken. So I can't install the patch. :?: Which should fix the game. If you buy the retail box, I guess you should be OK but don't buy from Steam.

any way not every1 has this problem.. im sorry some do and cant enjoy his game.. im sure most will be fixed.. i dont know about gfwl tho..

its a shame such a nice game has to be ruined by gfwl or bugs etc.. it just ruins tour day.. i hope to get the retail box version.. then i can manually download and install patches.. i can see the steam version will make me pull out some hair and be pissed off.. so.

There was a Steam Update Friday, it said something about fixing the installation of third party patches. I haven't tried the game to see if it was about Bio Shock 2 or another borked game.

Well, if that update was for Bio Shock 2, it really screwed it up. Tried to play it last night, the little window cam up saying initializing game, and BAM. Screen went totally white. Could not do anything. Had to end task.

So I uninstalled the game and redownloaded it. I'll try it later today. I'll also get the newest Nvidia drivers. Oh well. at least I had 3 solid good hours of fun playing ETQW. I still love that game! :ugeek: :9:

Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams FIXED!

Postby Mr. Chris » Sun Feb 21, 2010 11:30 am

Deleted the save games folder in My Documents. Went to the GFWL website and got the update. Game runs fine (of course I forgot to have FRAPS running) Screen shots later. Bed time now. ;)

Umm, screen shots will not be easy, since the game uses all the "F" keys for plasmids and tonics, and quick save/ load are F12 & F11. At least there is a quick save! Man this game is fun!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! :9:

I must say this is a way cool game! It's also a very long game so you get your moneys worth in gameplay!
Really pretty looking too...much more refined in the graphics & character models from the first BS. :9:

I've only had the game crash on me a few times & that's without installing any updates.
I'm going to install that today & hopefully it won't screw anything up...if it does I'll just reinstall it.
I've already played the whole game twice...the second being a much better game as I'm learning how to really
use all of the options open to you in gameplay!
As in the first game once you get the camera, research the F out of every splicer & Big Daddy to make them easier to kill. ;)
Also it's the only way to get a lot of the tonics not available to you any other way! :P

As far as the Fkeys I just rebound all the keys to the number keys instead! Simple...
I always do custom keybinds anyways as I'm use to having my keys laid out a certain way... ;)

Anyways I just love the new BS2 game!!! :!: :9: :D

Cool screen shots, Muff1n! Game has been fine since I figured out to update GFWL and delete the save games folder. Runs like a Swiss watch now.

I've been saving the Little Sisters (of course you have to kill the Big Daddy to get one) and I saved Gracie. Haven't gotten too far. Just killed my second Big Sister. I have Electro Bolt, Telekenesis, Incenerate and Deep Freeze (is that what's it's called?) Got the camera and I'm taking pics of anything that's still alive. Got a ton of cash, $600 and can't buy more stuff yet. Only 3.5 hours in, seems like longer but that's what my Steam profile says. Long ways to go! :9: :9: :9: :9:

Make sure to use the Headhunter tonic!
Once that's working you can take out most splicers with 2 headshots of the rivet gun! :Bananas:
The Rivet gun is one of the best all a round weapons to use on everything as its very accurate on headshots even
from a long distance & has a big ammo clip once it's upgraded...
I like the upgrade the heats up the rivets so on the second hit they light on fire! :yahoo:

Yea Chris, this is a very long game indeed!
Almost twice a long as the original one was I think & as you've already noticed, the maps are HUGE...
Lots of fun to explore & hunt for loot! :good:

Here's a few more screenies...
