Support for Nvidia based video cards

Geforce Tesla 300

I was just poking around the web and ran across some info on the new 40nm 300 Series Tesla GFX cards.

If this is true WOW, they will be sweet!! :yahoo:

Heres the Article and Link:: http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... tml?cat=15

==============================

Nvidia Gtx 300 Series - Specs Leaked and Updated

Specs | Directx 10 | Directx | Nvidia | Gtx | Windows Seven
Last time, I published an article on Nvidia GTX 300 when I had no idea on what this chip is going to be. I wrote that article inspired by my possible assumptions that I would like to see in that new card.

After so many months, finally I've found out more specific news about the upcoming graphics card from
Nvidia.

GT300, i.e. Geforce Tesla 300, architecture will take the performance of graphics cards to the next level. They had something in their mind to create more powerful chip than GT200, that's why Intel's Larrabee couldn't use their brain because they refused to work for them saying, 'take a hike fellas! We have got our own chip to make!' Anyway, GT200 was just the experiment of upcoming technology.

GT200 had 24 cores in it and GT300 features 32 cores straight-forward. You can see significant increase in chip design, as well as overall performance. It also features MIMD architecture which means Multiple-Instruction Multiple data, way better than SIMD (Single-Instruction Multiple Data).

Since these cards are under development, there is no way that anyone can predict the perfect figures. But sometimes, closest figures make us excited.

So let's hear them:

Based on 40 NM fabrication architecture, just like ATI's 5000 series graphics cards (expected release is in September 2009).

1. Finally GT300 should utilize GDDR5 memory which may go beyond 3 GHz. The size can vary according to the developer's mind. But we will definitely enjoy it in 1GB size, that's pretty obvious though.

2. After so many preparations, GT300 doesn't look to follow the trend of 256-bit bus processing. I may go all the way up to 512-bit bus.

I am not imagining things. Nvidia may offer the most expensive hardware but the technology which it packs happens to be state-of-art.

3. Everything will be doubled for great computing and gaming. Core clock may reside between 850 MHz and beyond, but not less than that.

4. DirectX 11 support - As you know that ATI suffered drastically when they failed to adopt future DirectX version with their HD 2XXX cards. From that point on, ATI has always been keen to develop graphics cards which support future version of graphics card.

=============================

I don't think anyone really knows, but I's say NV wanted to wait and see what ATI came out with first. Then try and out do them, of course.

It's a Dog Eat Dog World for NV and ATI.

I know one thing the new cards will be FAST and 10-15% Cooler, also use less power.

Who Knows what it will really be like? It's under tight lips, so to speak. ;)

Re: Geforce Tesla 300 + NVIDIA GTX 300 Fermi

NVIDIA GTX 300 (Fermi) series performance slides leaked

Well it looks like the Tesla is for Lap tops? Or scratched? Now they are being Called FERMI.

Info::

================================================================================

Seen below are a bunch of benchmark results showing off Fermi's performance vs. NVIDIA's current-gen

GTX 295 and 285 graphics cards as well as ATI's HD 5870 and 5970 models. Of course, given the lack of validity

to these results along with the fact that the layout of the graphs scream out 'NVIDIA slide deck presentation', the

results are to be taken with grains of salt.

Benchmarks are performed in Far Cry 2, Resident Evil 5 and STALKER: Clear Sky; you can see whether or not AA

was used and at what resolution the tests were done with at the bottom portion of each graph.

If indeed these results match Fermi's true characteristics, NVIDIA have a very promising lineup of DX11 cards on

the horizon to make serious gamers worldwide very excited.

Looking Great, then ATI will come out with something faster and on and on it goes.

Personally my GTX275FTW works wonderfully, no regrets at all. :yahoo: :tease: :clap: :Bananas:

Well NV must be gearing up for it's release of the GTX 300 Fermi Series Cards. I just updated my Drivers and saw this::

Image

There are no cards yet out, but the Drivers are in place. BTW, these new Drivers are great!! WHQL 8.17.1~1.96.75

I got them @ NV, though I don't see them there now, however there are here @ Guru3D :: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Forceware-1 ... -2484.html

Image

Not sure why they are no longer @ NV's site. I do know they work fine. Win7/Vista 64 bit~OS
