DVI input died!

Postby Mr. Chris » Tue Nov 17, 2009 9:36 pm

On my View Sonic VA2012wb wide screen. It was working fine. I shut down the PC, unhooked everything so I could fix the front panel audio wiring. Hooked it all back up and ....................poof! "No Signal" WTF? Tried a different DVI cable, same thing. So I plugged the little 15" Sony LCD on the Folding PC next to my main PC into the video card and it worked.

So now I'm using the VGA input on the View Sonic. I got an extended warranty with this View Sonic when I bought it so it's time to see how good they are. :?

This is just me, but working before, not working now....Check the wiring you did to the front panel for grounding and did you shutdown and discharge the capacitors and clear the cmos? :D

Yeah, checked all that, tried the monitor on a different PC, no dice. This E Machines 21.5" widescreen works fine on the same DVI output from the same video card.

Sound like the monitor has went south and since there's extended warrantly i guess they would repair it free.

I'm not gonna bother, the VGA input works fine, using it now on the KVM switch for the 4 Folding PC's. :9:

Yes, I got this one: http://www.product-reviews.net/2009/11/ ... iday-2009/ it was $89.95 USD. Only has one green pixel that you can only see when the screen is dark. But you have to have 3 or 4 bad pikels in order to exchange the monitor, so I'm happy with it. Looks great at 1920x1080! :9:
