Support for boards with a Nvidia chipset

With their recent exodus from the chipset market, one has to wonder what is going on. One also has to wonder if they are going to be around tomorrow.

Speculation on my part, I see 3DFX happening in slow motion with a hint of ABiT......They are shifting their efforts into other areas.

Anyway, when one pulls down their forums 3 days back for a 2 day combining and has to change the date for returning, and then missed that date and leaves the old date present, I just get that feel of ABiT again.

I thought Nvidia had just an argument Intel, saying that Intel do rule the roost!!

Nvidia has stopped research and development of chipsets that work with Intel's architecture. Nvidia wants its graphics-processing units to work more like processors, while Intel is adding graphics to its processors. Their battle could determine the future of PCs, and an analyst thinks Intel has the upper hand and Nvidia needs to do better.

....I just tried the forums, still down.

I wonder if they know what the date is?

A smart man would have said 11/02/09 or some other date, that way they beat the expected.

A lot of server "farms" seem to be relocating. My clan's ETQW server was in Chicago, but has since moved to another town in the southwest (we still aren't quite sure where it is) and when the move was made, the server was down, then it moved from it's usual "port" 27733, to 27734 and 27735. Took Game Servers 3 weeks to get us back on the correct port! And we pay $50 a month for that server! In the mean time, we dropped form the #1 spot to the #5 spot in the server rankings. Yes, we like shiny medals and top ranking. We just do. :P

Besides which, I can guarantee you those IT guys do not work weekends. Every single company is pinching pennies with this recession. You think Nvidia is gonna pay overtime? Uh uh. 5PM Friday to 8AM Monday ain't nuttin gonna happen. ;)

Do you have to be smart to be an IT Tech? :P

Just kidding to any IT techs that may be lurking around. 8-)
