ya for a few days. Going to play some ETQWs before I have to go. Plus I might have a cushy job at home ( delivering produce ) or driving rock truck. Well see.

well so far i like this driver. but i have nothing to compare it to since this is my 1st time with ATI drivers now. since now i have a XFX HD 5870 sitting under the hood of my case as it may.

i done and gone and done it now i jump ship this time for the 1st time in 8 yrs. been a die hard Nvidia runner and now i got a big boy of a gfx card me thinks..

I was a big Nvidia guy too for years and bought only Leadtek Cards. Then one day I had to build a computer for my son to watch HD movies on his xbox 360 portable HD drive. I tried about 3 or 4 cards that said they would play HD movies. I had two ATI 1950 pro card sitting around doing nothing and put one of them in and have never look back. I still like Nvidia cards but they drivers sometimes really suck. The only thing I don't like about ATI cards is when you loading a OS they might overheat on you. Ati made the fan run slower when you are dos mode because they didn't want people complain about the fan noise. :?

well that sucks about the fan speeds and people thinking noise reduction is a big thing!! i would want it to stay cool no matter what!! but this 5870 came set at 50% so i left it at that but i think i am not out of danger yet so far i have had a bunch of weird brown screen yet.

and 1 time while i was playing killing floor this happing it then came out of it and i was playing again! very strange. right now i am back talking with XFX tech support about this, which i have to get back to them about yet. still trying to do what they want me to do for them yet.

once again going threw the same hoops as before again and coming up with the same results again. and they want me to try this card in another pc which i have no way of doing now. and to top it all off they want me to install driver sweeper and use it to make sure the old driver are gone

i told them before i will never use that program ever again  since it fk my vista all up by error out and deleting ever game and program off of my vista in a blink of an eye!!! so no NO Thank You XFX That I Wont Do!

bit i will install driver cleaner pro well that is if it will work in win7 that is. but the this it does not happen all the time only once in a while and so far killing floor is the 1 it happens to the most. and i have had it happen at my desk top once to. so yeah it is weird.

so maybe if i can find this 9.11 beta i will give it a try or if the hot fix comes out before hand i will give it a go.

How did you make out with your card. I might be wrong but didn't XFX just start make Ati cards in the past 2 years. I have been using just 3 or 4 card companys in my computers for the past 13yrs. Mostly Leadtek, SAPPHIRE & 4 Evga. In all those cards 1 Evga & 1 SAPPHIRE I had problems with.
