Welcome aboard Engine. You just sparked my memory, I previously said my first Desktop was a Pentium 133, I believe when I bought the old Packard Bell it was DX2 66 Mhz., then I upgraded it later.

My first Desktop was a Compaq 66 MHz CPU Intel system with Win 95. Games I played were Doom

mostly, and Duke Nukem 3d. Back then you had to know DOS or you were not going to game period. LOL!! :D

Don't recall what GFX card it had though. That was a long a$$ time ago.

Oh BTW Welcome aboard Engine!!

My ladder of cards is unknow too, I really don't keep track of it, I usually us one for like two years at a time maybe more.

I've used both ATI and NV, but recently, last five years pretty much all NV. Just happy with the cards is all.

One thing I've learned over the years is I stick with what I'm most comfortable with. I rarely pay much attention to who

runs what. ATI and NV are the Best and pretty much all there is to pick from today, though Intel may change all that.

JMHO.

Here's a Short List. Last few years.

From today and back::

GTX260

8800GTS640

6800GTOC

Blue

Here's my First PC...

Yes and that a shame. I wish there was more competition like the good old days when 3DFX was alive and kicking and S3 as well as Matrox were putting out decent gaming cards.

Welcome to the forum Cas. What were you running in it a Celeron or Pentium 4? Does PCCHIPS still manufacture motherboards by the way? I haven't heard them mentioned in a long time. My first DIY rig i built around a crappy ECS motherboard as that was all I could afford and used an AMD 266 Mhz. K-something or other. Then the next one was a so-so Soyo motherboard. Best board I've ever used is my current one.

First of all tks for the welcome, John ;) Infact i'm running a 1.7ghz Intel P4 processor on the mobo. I just did a search online just now when u put me the question whether pcchip still manufacture mobo? And guess what? Surprisingly it does, they have the following socket under them

Socket 775
Socket 478
Socket AM2+
Socket AM2
Socket 939
Socket 754
Socket 370
Socket 462

Alot of peep would avoid using pcchip mobo cos they find it suck but suprisingly is still around...... :o
