HOW TO: Install a Hardware Device Driver using Compatibility

1. Place the driver installation file on the Desktop.

2. Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties/Compatibility Tab. Select the appropriate options in from the list in the following image.

3. Click Apply/OK.

4. Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install.

The above step could also be used for windows 7 :)

I thought when I installed Win 7 on my system, it automatically used the XP driver without having to do anything.

Just incase win 7 wouldn't detect the hardware and assign a driver, once can do the above. But so far i've yet to encounter the above though some peep does
