Thought this was a good place to start!

Postby MUff1N » Fri Jul 10, 2009 5:26 pm

Since I'm brand new & never posted anything here before I'd like to introduce myself, Hello everyone! 8-)
I've been OCing my systems now for the last 6 years or so, so this is nothing new to me.
My past history is Pro Musician (Rock guitarist/Lead sing) & different jobs in the construction field as well
as building maint.
I'm not currently Disabled & work on computer & help others with comp problems when & where I can on forums.

How I found out about the abithelp forum was BlueMonster invited me to come here so now I'm here! :P
From time to time you'll see me post here & there in areas that I know about & other times respond
to someone's question IF I know what I'm talking about & can in fact help...
With that said I'm done with my introduction so hi all... ;)

Not to brag or anything, but when I was out on the road playing around the US
our band opened up for the Ramones!
I got to meet all of them & partied with them after the concert! :P
Good bunch of guys that didn't act like rock stars but just normal people like everyone should act. :9:

My Avatar is from a FPS Gaming Clan I used to be in (favorite weapon was the Thompson MG) & my gaming name was MUff1NMaN,
but later on I shortened it to just MUff1N so that's how that name & Avatar came about.

Yea, I saw you over at the Seven Forums John, you & Jeff. ;)
I ended up going to that forum because I was customizing Windows 7
and wanted to know how to do some stuff with it as it was new to me.
Everytime I Googled the keywords of what I wanted the Seven Forums would come up
with the correct answer to it that worked. So I setup camp there & stayed as my resource for
this new OS. I've learned a ton since then about this OS. I like it better than any previous OS MS has put out to date! :9:

Here's the custom Desktop I made for it.

Here's what the inside of my comp case looks like...nice & clean with great airflow. :P

Nice Zahlman cooler. Is that a Cooler Master case? Here's my newest rig with an older board that I put back into use last week with a GTX260 that Blue sent me:

This is the case:

What part of Arizona you live in? Mom is in Cottonwood, where I plan to move to in a couple of years.

Any tips and tricks that you have about Win 7 are definately welcome. Maybe the Seven Forums can help me with this stupid Kodak camera driver. Chris.

Nice rig, btw you guy are great at keeping the cables neat and tidy. I'm bad at it. Any link or tip on cable management? Last but not least welcome onboard MUff1N :)

Alright i've managed to find the following video on cable management, so does it mean we hide those cable at the back of the mobo back plate? Would it somehow causes static electric due to touching the other end of the casing?

Cas, you can hide cables behind the mobo plate without any problems. Use tie wraps. Route all the cables where you want them to go before you tie them up. Keep airflow in mind, don't block fans.

Now back to our regularly scheduled Topic. ;) Chris.
