Support for boards with an Intel chipset

motherboard version

Postby BloodStripe » Sat May 30, 2009 9:21 pm

I thought I had bios version 14 on my IP35 Pro. Now I'm not so sure. What's the easiest way to verify my version?

Thanks

As it turns out, I'm on bios version 10. Do you see any problems with that? Any reason to upgrade?

Thanks.

Seem to remember the 14 or 16 was a better bios for that board. Definitely the 10(starter BIOS) was not the best.

Plus your Sig says 14, :)

Updated sig, thanks. :)

I've never updated a motherboard bios, do you have any advice. I've heard it's potentially tricky.

The trick is to first, reset the bios using the CMOS jumper, enter the bios and set the correct ram voltage manually as per the sticker on the sticks, then flash using a dos bootable floppy.

If you use the windows utility, your could brick your system.

If that scares you, BIOSMAN sells preflashed chips to the version you chose pretty cheap.

Thanks.

BIOS 11 was the best with Q6600.
