You can set the monitor at whatever the customer is comfortable with. Vista likes to set my 20" LCD widescreen at 1650x1280 (or something like that) but to me everything looks funny. 1600x1200 looks fine. XP will not set the resolution that high.
A full HD monitor will be capable of 1040p video playback, a non - HD might only be capable of 720p video, but that only relates to DVD's or video, not games or the normal Windows desktop.
"Sonic" is just a part of the Palit brand name, it doesn't mean anything special about the card, unless maybe it's higher clock rates from the factory.
I like Turtle Beach sound cards, they are really good quality and not expensive. I feel the same way that Scavy does about Creative, I have a set of their speakers but I will never own one of their sound cards. Chris.
