Uninstall the previous GPU driver.

Driver Sweeper

CCleaner

Reboot.

Try that package again. Those are qualifying drivers for that Unit.

Still fails try these 93.71

Sounds like the chip might be bad.

Still no go, high chances that the onboard graphic is bad or going haywire. Try different version of driver and the default drivers that comes with the recovery cd, either it doesn't allow to complete setup or complete the setup if is using default drivers but both would stil lead to the vertical lines and blackout, only soultion is not installing the graphic drivers then it would appear fine

Without the graphic drivers install it appears wavy on the web page when one scroll down while surfing the net, anyway to overcome this issue and make it not so obvious as in wavy/lagged?

It seems that you have tried everything. Just tell them that they either have to live with the graphics the way they are, or have the main board replaced. Chris.

Cas, none of the drivers which appear on Nvidia's site will work with your laptop as it's using the Geforce Go 6200, not just a 6200. To get any of them to work you would need to have the INF installation file modified. Below is a site which specializes in Laptop drivers which you may want to bookmark ...

Here's a link to the 178.24 Drivers which have been modified to work with the Go 6200's ....

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/ind ... opic=21249

Changes over official version:

* Based on official Forceware 178.24
* Removed Desktop GPU support
* Added support for all Geforce go 6-9M GPUs and quadro equivalent
* Tweaked resolutions and added extra ones
* Added a number of Direct X and OpenGL tweaks for maximum performance possible
* Tweaked OpenGL settings for higher image quality
* Driver comes with two inf - one is for troubleshoot purposes (recommended for sli users)
* Improved responsiveness of Nvidia Control Panel
* Disabled nview installation with default inf and its associated files (XP only)
* Disabled Nvidia display driver service and start up items to reduce background resources and boot time
* Fixed issue with laggy aero performance. (Vista Only)

Although, if you can't get the ones from the Recovery CD to work, that's not a good sign. Yes that was an understatement. :D

Oh C!!!!, forgot about that....Your correct, inorder to install the suggested drivers they would have to be modified or you would have to work them in.

Try the modified, but the Original drivers from CD should have installed without issue.
