I don't know about Acer. I do know that HP and Compaq have a recovery partition on the hard drive and a recovery CD that you boot with to do the recovery.

As the PC is booting, start tapping the F8 key will boot into safe mode. Chris.

Generally you tap the F10 /F11 / F12 to get the Restore partition....But, if it has it, you can look on the HD from within the OS and see the partition. Try Alt+F10.

IF it does not have it, they often offer the Disks online order for like $10-22, as they are worthless without the CD key on the side of the case. If the sticker is gone, you gotta run a CD KEY extractor to get it out of the Registry.

Sometimes, once your in the OS, they have a utility you run and it reboots to the resotre sectore or initiate from within the OS.

See if this helps

If you need to get the Windows license key number, just run Magic Jelly Bean key finder. It works awesome. Chris.

Yup u're right, after doing a search it seem that the particular model need to hit Alt+F10 during POST to access the hidden partition.
This utility has same password protection with Acer eRecovery and includes an OBR(One Button Recovery) button, a feature that makes restoring your system quick and easy

Not too sure what they mean by OBR button and hopefully i wun be stop by a password protection.... :|

Hopefully it not only resotres, but when it was originally setup, it might have also stored registration information which would install the OS without ever asking for a CD key again.

Anyone can clarify with me if use the recovery, is there an option to backup the existing files, folder, data or at least keep it intact before reinstallating window?

I'm going down tmr or the day before tmr.... wish me luck man :)

everyone can be different. Some offer a non-destructable recovery. Basically it puts Windows and all preinstalled files back in, and you end up having to update and patch everything, and even reinstall programs to make them functional, but the data is intact.
