BIOS 18 should be fine.
Universal Scientific bought Abit in late 2007, IIRC, and after that is was all bad. No new boards being brought to market, only a few that were already in the pre- production pipeline. Then a lot of top support and design people left Abit for different companies. Universal kept doing stuff that left all of us at the Forums wondering when the end would finally come, like not answering the phones or e-mails and RMA's that took 6 to 9 months if at all. They screwed up the Forums so that no one new could register (no one was being sent a confirmation e-mail) and then they finally pulled the plug over Thanksgiving. The existing Abit website is half broken as well.
Basically Universal bought Abit for their board fab equipment and then let them die. Mad a lot of us mad, me included. Whatever Abit boards that are out there for sale, that's it. Universal says they will provide support (RMA's basically) for 3 years. But no live tech support. That's why I started this website back in November, as a place for us from the old Abit Forums to hang out at as well as a place for folks like you to turn to.
Let us know how it's going with your board. Chris.
