Steam was back up by noon today. You will need to change your Steam Forum password. It's mandatory. Glad they are finally back up and running. Now prepare for the usual insults from the "inmates" ;)

Yep Chris~

I have the regular home page, but have to set up a new password, not the end of the world.

Just glad it got fixed, still would like to know the exact number of Hacked accounts, that's what scares

me, a few over 500, 10.000 accounts?? Makes me wonder. Is there a time limit to change forum

passwords??

With the way they let fan boys and ass hats hang out in the forum- it could have stayed down as far as I care- as long as my games work and I lose none of them- and can order new games in the future.

Blue, they (Steam) don't know how many member accounts were hacked or games or other info stolen. No CC info was lost per se, because Steam uses the same encryption method that the US Government uses. It's called AES256 encryption. With so many hundreds of thousands of Forum Members, even 1/2 of 1% is huge! Nothing bad on my end. I didn't realize how huge Steam/ Valve is. Over 35 MILLION customers. :o Kind of a daunting task to keep track of all of that.

Erik, all Forums will have ass hats and fan boys. I'd say the moderators on the Steam Forums do a pretty good job, overall. I just ignore the jerks. Only reason I go there is for support for the games I have and to help others with games I have knowledge about. I've come close to a "time out" (warned by a mod by PM) a few times, losing my cool and replying to some idiot without thinking. It's fine. I actually have quite a few friends over there. :9:
