Hard Reset game

Postby Mr. Chris » Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:26 am

Actually has a demo! On Steam. It's not very long but enough to get the basics of the game. I gotta say it's pretty fun. It's got elements of Borderlands, finding cash to buy new weapons and upgrades, but the system itself is like Dead Space's "store". Enemies are robots, some small ones, some big. Environment is a lot like Blade Runner's world (not the story or characters). Very heavily destructable environment, too.
Game is out on the 13 of this month. @26.95 now, 29.95 after release. It's an Indie developer, too. Not like I need another game to not finish right now.

Took the words right outta my mouth! I've gotten waaay too many games recently, only found out about Hard Reset after getting them, so I may put Hard Reset on hold while I do my best to finish the rest. There's a 'Benchmark' option in the demo, though I'd not put too much into it as it doesn't truly reflect performance ingame. I tried it and scored badly, min fps was 10fps, but when I played the game itself, with FRAPS on btw, I see FR between 30fps to 50+fps, only when there're explosions and many enemies would FR dip.....~20fps. This is on my AM2 5200+/4GB RAM/HD5770/64bit Vista HP SP2 rig.

Wasn't running FRAPS, should have, need some screen shots! Didn't try the benchmark either.

Well, downloading the full game now. I think this is one I'm gonna be playing from day one, because the demo was just such fun! Other games I haven't finished, well, they were, how should I say it. Too hard, too stupid, or just not fun. Or just too many bugs. I also like supporting Indie developers. They breathe life into PC gaming, and this is a PC only game. Flying Wild Hogs. What a name, eh? This is gonna be a sleeper, like Darkest of Days was. Another Indie dev. Said game time is about 7 to 10 hours, depends on the difficulty level. Most reviewers giving it 7 out of 10. Screenies later! :D

Chris- Any of them games you have and if you do not like them or never going to play them- I think you can gift them now- but not a game that was gifted to you. Or you might just want to keep them to say you have them- which is fine also. If I read right you can not gift a game that was gifted to you. :D

I am not asking for them either- just saying I think steam started that in the last week or 2. You can get rid of them if you want- others might like or play them.

Re: Hard Reset game Old School FPS

Postby BlueMonster » Thu Nov 03, 2011 4:43 pm

Have not got far in HARD RESET, but I will say, this game is not BUGGY at all (yet anyhow). It reminds me of Bladerunner, but very Colorful.

The GFX are on HIT. Very pretty Game. Simple OLD SCHOOL FPS!! There's upgrades you can get as you move along, but that is simple as well.

One thing about Steam that kinda pisses me off, is never get a manual (PDF), no Wallpapers nothing. They have a great selection, yes, but they

need to include Bonus Help guides, Wallls, and other such things, as GOG games does. Don't get me wrong I Love Steam, it's simple enough, has voice

and other perks, DLC etc. But come on a manual, that's a must  All aside Hard Reset is a really cool game, with secret compartments everywhere, the style is

Awesome, after all theses games that make me think to much!! LOL :D It's a great game and worth the 30 bucks. A friend helped me get it, and I'm

glad and grateful he did, you know who you are. A lot of kindness here, Love our small website!!! :9:

My 550ti does 900MHz clock easy, it's stock at 900MHz. I could push it to a GHz but why? It chews up all my games!!! ;) 2 GIGS of ddr5 ram help a LOT!!

Couple Shots for fun....

Want a Blast from the past in HD GFX, this is the game, FPS for real!!

Re: Hard Reset game, Green Man

Postby BlueMonster » Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:32 am

Never heard of Green Man Games, it's like GOG or Steams games, digital Download, only with Green Man you can trade and sell your games too ;) Pretty cool I think

Link: http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/shooter/hard-reset/

CHEAP TOO, 15 bucks, Steam=30 bucks. And you own it, not rent it like Steam  I still love GOG games and I like Steam,

but Green Man looks great to me, I guess they sell some Steam Games too, hummmm. Anyway...

It's by far one of the prettiest Graphical PC games I've seen (if you have a decent system) so Colorful and packed with detail.

My grips are just two, needs quick save, also the inventory system takes some getting used to. Oh and I read it's kinda short as well.

The game is not easy, except on easy, every other difficulty level is Hard. It is FUN though and action packed. Just about everything

explodes too.

Just keeps getting better and better!

Postby Mr. Chris » Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:18 pm

Over at the Steam Forums, FWH's Hashmallum dropped by with a surprise yesterday:

"Hey guys, First of all thanks for all the support you showed us with our first game!
To show our respect for all the PC gamers who picked up Hard Reset, we decided that the upcoming Expansion will be
FREE for all those who already own Hard Reset on Steam!
The DLC should be available sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May.

Have Fun! "

The EE is already in retail stores at $29.95. So that's a pretty nice deal if you ask me! Oh, Hard reset is in the Indie Royale Bundle on Steam right now for $5. I want the bundle for the 4 extra Indie games and I can gift Hard Reset! :D

I have never seen support for an Indie Dev like I have for FWH. Folks that were more than willing to fork over $30 now want a "Donate" button so they can throw in at least a little cash. Call them Fanbois, whatever. it's just really nice to see a dev so involved in the Forum. Someone has a problem, Hash is there, and he will get to the bottom of things. Oh, he does the Forums stuff from his home, not from work. Big AAA developers can learn a lot from companies like this.
