Bear, I know that you know the AC97 is only a spec. Unless the specs for the board say specifically what chip it's using, it's easy to install the wrong driver.
I had this board so I know it uses the VIA sound.
Freezy, you can find out for sure by downloading Everest Home Edition from Majorgeeks.com. It will tell you what sound chip the board has.
Oh, BTW, SP3 broke a lot of VIA sound drivers. They never bothered with a fix either. Could be easier to just grab a cheap sound card.

If you're not living on the edge, you are taking up too much room
