WTF? Why do they feel that removing the version number is even necessary? (no, I didn't read all that stuff) Not that I ever look at it, FF just updates when a new version comes out.

The biggest issue that I see is this 'Rapid Release' schedule they plan on. Every 6 weeks or so? That's going to cause major problems for add-on developers, which is the main reason I use Firefox.

What people do not realize is that you shouldnt even worry about it.

Find the version you like, stick with it, there is nothing that says you have to update...I havent, mine is 3.6.13. My IE is 7.
