No FarCry thread here- odd?



Well this is a classic and great- one of the best of all times. I am amazed how well it looks and runs on my new rig using the 64bit patch and added content. High frame rates- it runs like a top and looks great with my w7 64bit intel system. The 64bit patch was said for amd but works fine with intel 64bit cpu's systems. Looks great!

** The videos and screens do the game no justis- much better in game. Man my fps are high even recording @30fps. Fraps off my fps are like 60 to 110. YouTube has updated and changed codecs a few times- my older vids look like crap mostly- Vids and screens are re sized to 854x480 which is youtubes defaults for my 16.9 res. I use avc [free any video converter] xvid for vids and irafan jpeg for screens-->

I am playing at 1920x1080 extra high game settings water is ultra high I added reflections to the water-so. 8aa 12xaf can go more high with af but looks nice now. Grass is the most hard thing in the game to record so it is not blurr- I think I got it pretty good now using Paradise render 3d. I might try the hdr- I do not care to manually tweak it tho. It comes native now I think in the 1.4 patch and has a hacked 64bit content and textures in that patch or said.



Far Cry has a not bad mp game not sure 64bit players have servers tho- most others are patches to say 1.4? FarCry 64bit so far is sweet. Far Cry runs a lot better than it ever did in xp- my system is more powerful - same older vid card but fc rocks on this system and w7. I hope it runs as well all game and no probs- we will see. I might up af some more [maybe 16af] and tweak some other stuff. I use devmode for 3rd view. I like fc more than fc2- fc2 is still cool tho..

Far Cry and JustCause2 are the most pretty games I have. I like JC2 fine I love FarCry

Yep I played the 64 bit version, remember?

There's even a way to quick save, I can't remember where I found the mod, but it's out there.

I think I did quick saves before- I think patch 1.4 adds it. I have a mod for it have not tried yet but is said you can edit the dev lua add 2 lines and can quick save. I do not think I did it right and or fraps was blocking something- fc has a lot of keys and alternates. I am not sure I did it right but spawned back in one time all the bots spawn with me with me in the middle and they shooting at me. So thats not good. I can and have played the game with the check points if need be..

It runs and looks great or so far it might bug later I do not know- I hope not and my frames got a lil low at the carrier- not bad tho. I have not got inside the carrier yet . Dam bots clean my clock or I do not like the video and start over. Or take a nap etc.

Think I will fire it up here in a few tho..

I though the Original Farcry was Freaking hard!! The quick save issue your having, sounds about right.

As I recall, it was kinda buggy, but I made it through the whole game once using it.

All these years have come and gone and FARCRY still looks 2X as good as mst PC games, truly

one of the BEST PC GAMES EVER!!
