Queries about cash drawer

Postby cas » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:41 am

Anyone uses cash drawer with Pos terminal and Pos printer? Just a thought say if a cash drawer is spoilt (5e-415) and i get a HP cash drawer to have it replaced. Note is different brand from the existing one. Hmm would it be compatible and work out of the box? I guess it should be fine since is just a cash drawer and beside it only comes with a usb port as well as ethernet. Not as if is a Pos terminal or printer that require driver and application. Basically is just replacing the cash drawer

Anyone care to share your thought's on this?

Well, I guess it's your job to find out. The POS software we use at the video store is 20 years old now, and we have always used a wooden cash drawer. The new owner of the store is pushing for a new system, maybe Quick Books or something like that. But, this old system (486/66) will not run a new software. So, now, we are looking at learning how to run the new software. Do you know a good POS system? We need something for the video store!

I found one called "Video Vision" which looks pretty nice. And, the Pro version contains the software that will convert the QNX files to what Windows will understand. Looks pretty good! :9:

But, yes, send me some specs. I would rather give you a few $$$ than some one else. :D
