Assassins Creed I and II, PC

Postby BlueMonster » Mon Apr 19, 2010 5:04 am

Well I got this game gifted to me from a Friend, Assassins Creed 2. It got very High marks. All around except for the Port to PC job and Controls are very

Strange indeed, It's a Gorgeous game, I'll give it that!! the GFX in AC2 are some of the VERY BEST. Voice acting is Awesome, Story is Great, lots of real History in the game.

The Old Cities in the 1400's look OUTSTANDING!!

=======================================

However what they did with the Cotrols are like nothing I've ever seen, very Hard to get used too, it's all done with strange Icons instead of like regular keys, you

can change them anyway you want but on screen in game they use Icons to show you what to do then you have to KNOW what those silly Icons mean and which key is assigned to them.

Strangest Controls System ever!! High Profile, low Profile, Head, legs, and kinds of weird icons. I guess the udea here is to make it so if you speak any language it works, thus they don't

have to ship different versions? Just different voice overs??? Makes no Since at all. IMHO, plus the game uses Steam, you need a Steam Account, I was all excited about that, until UbiSolf

adds there own DRM crap on top of Steams, you have to enter the code for the game to install it, then UbiSolf makes you create an account with them and gives you yet another Code to enter

and get this, it's a DAMN Single Player Game (rpg) but you have to be connected to the internet (UbiSolf) to play, so if you have a crappy connection, don't bother. The save game files are kept

at UbiSolft as well. So no save files on you PC at all, therefore you can't get anywhere unless you register the game with UbiSolf.

those are my beefs with the game, oh and a lot of mini games you have to race across rooftops etc, and there's a TIMER going!! Don't beef the TIMER, to bad your stuck.

Took me about 20-30 tries to do the first Timed Mini Game. :banghead:

But if you stick with the game, it is AWESOME, though Hard IMHO. Kinda like Damnation, I guess, Great GFX and the buck stops there. A 360 Controller would prolly work best

or some folks say so, others say the K$M work fine, not for me though, and I play a LOT of Third Person Games, Batman Arkham Asylum is simple compared to AC2.

Though I think as I said if you stick with the game in time it'll be easier as you adjust to the bizarre Controlling. Once I got on the buildings man is it Pretty!! OMG!!

Also I have no idea who does the patching?? If anyone know do tell. I tried one from UbiSoft it said they couldn't find the game. So I'm guessing Steam Updates it?? Then Game Spot

has a Patch too, 400+ Megs worth!! Not sure if I should try it either? The game no where does it tell you what VERSION it is, like BATMAN AA does etc.

I'm very confused about the controls, so if anyone tried to play this game, please share your thoughts

No sooner did I start to enjoy it and I got a damn Courier Mission, where I have to race all over against the TIMER to deliver the Messages (s)

I think UbiSolf went CRAZY with the whole DRM thing with AS2, does the first do it the same way??

You Might want to READ this as well http://news.bigdownload.com/category/assassins-creed-2/ Ubisolf gives a free game to those that can't maintain a good connection.

Image

It's a Trippy game though, kinda like the Matrix idea? Sorta, Desmond, me, gets in this time Machine chair and goes back to the 1400's :D

Image

Don't care for the Controls, the DRM crap, but once you get passed all that this it is an EXCELLENT game, not for folks with no patience though. ;)

Blue

YOU GOTTA WATCH THIS VIDEO!! IT'S HILARIOUS!! :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MolJ3gOZ_I&NR=1

Frond it at Steam Forums!! LMFAO!! :rules: :scare:

I think this lets make them stay connected to play our games, even if they are SP games, and the DRM in general is going over like a TURD in a PUNCHBOWL!!

Well played a few hours tonight and I'm getting down the controls, odd as they are, but this game is FUN!!

BTW the game (PC) sold 70,000 copies in the USA and 400,000 were Pirated in the USA. Fun Facts!!
:o

On the Water was cool, boats and stuff canals etc, you can climb anything in this game, I love that, and you can fall from High areas and take Damage but not die

you go see a Doctor and buy some meds ;)

Image

I hate DRM, but I do like this game!! :9:

DRM etc aside AC2 is a Fabulous game, I just love it, it took some time to learn the Pupet Control System, but once I did, what a JOY!!

One of the BEST 3rd Person RPG games I've yet to play, tons of History too. GFX are stellar, totally maxed and it runs like a SWISS watch!!

It has a lot of adventure to, so glad my good friend gave me this game!! Only issue is if Steam does an update (new games etc,in the middle of my

game it can crash, however when you get connected again, your right where you left off. Love that action.

SOOOOOO PRETTY!!

PC Gamer had a really positive review of this game (AC II) compared to the first one. Looks like a fun game. They said it's not a short game, either. I may try it out if it goes on sale on Steam which I'm sure it will.

You can find it at Amazon New for like 10-20 bucks, I'm pretty sure. Chris. The game is like 100 hours easy if you look and do/see everything

Once you get into it, it's like being there in the 1400-1500's. Amazing. The Horses are so COOL to, and the Flying Machine (yet to find) the Game World is unbelievably HUGE.

New I think it's 60 bucks at Steam. Worth every cent IMHO, it's a living Breathing World. Controls work great once to get the Puppet Idea down.

Runs top notch, looks Breathtaking, I think, the day and Night Cycles are way trippy. :9: I love Fallout 3, but this game is Damn close in quality if not better.

Image

Just Amazing Game!! :o The whole game looks like a Painting!!

Blue

Oh and AC1 got a 9.0, better than AC2, but only cuz of the DRM. To bad, in my book it's a 9.5, Superb!! :yahoo:

I'll gonna get it as well, AC1!!

Well I love Assassins Creed II so much I ordered Assassins Creed 1!!

Image

Got it @ GOGAMER Cheap. It's rated as High as AC2 as well!!GFX in AC2 are a touch better maybe? Hard to call, they look very similar.

This will be really col, I already know the game well, so no learning curve to worry about  No DRM either. ;) That don't bother me much anyhow, in AC2,

but if you have a crappy connection your Screwed!! Lame, lame, lame. You can bet that the next Ac3 will just be a Steam release. IMHO :P

Image

Image

I remember when AC1 first came out, sold like CRAZY!! Small Mike got first thing, though he never even came close to finishing it, it looked HELLA SWEET!!

My Favorite 3rd Person RPG out there!! This and Resident Evil 5 really ROCK!! Max Payne, Alice, FAAK2, MAFIA!! I have a bunch of these older games.

I know I can't possibly finish AC2 before I get this, but it's in my cashe. BTW GoGamer's going back to thowing in free games once in a while, if your a regular customer

also some of the other Free stuff they used to do. Great folks at GoGamer, can't go wrong with them. I think it was 16 bucks with free shipping? The first game AC1

has a much easier plot, you Assassinate 9 big shots, in a NUT shell, but I'lll be HIGH in the sky on my Perch once again, can't WAIT!!

Blue

I love the LEAP of Faith move, where you just hope off the roof into a Pile of Hay 10 stories down w00t w00t!! Great fun!!

AC2!! My Game!!::

One really cool thing about AC, is there's not a gang of talking to folks, with ten different replies. Pretty straight forward, want to do this? If you do, you'll get this, kinda thing.

I love Fallout 3, but A bit heavy on the dialog, you can yack forever in FO3, then again that's cool too. AC, is just so Pretty, and gets even better looking. There's gobbs of info in the game, lots and lots of History.

It has a glitch do to the lame DRM thing, well, it have check points, though they are few, with that DRM crap, AC should for SURE have, AC1 doesn't have the DRM thing at least, and honestly it's not that big of

a deal, if they have quick save or more check points.. Though I think anytime you got to the Eagles Peak at the very TOP of the many, many Buling it saves? Does the first time for sure, hum

I'll see if it works after you do it once? The Game is Bloodier than I thought it would be, but not crazy Bloody by any means. You can make plenty of money too, to fix up your Villa you live at, tonight I bought Copper and Emerald

Green, Clothing. Pretty nice, you get smoke bombs, and later a GUN even, a Bow and Arrow kit, oh a Throwing knives which I can't seem to do well with? Just gotta read up on it, AC has a Excellent in game Manual

explains the basics very well. AC is Highly addictive, whoa, if your afraid of Heights, ya might want. Great Games, just need to stick with it is all. I've been playing the sot outta it and am like 25% finished maybe :D

Great Game!! Shot De'jur::

Good Stuff!! :D

Don't bother if you have no patience.

Shot of Day, this is my Favorite Horse and I. ;) I Love this Horse, it has cool red Satin Trim on the Saddle too, Horses are a Gas to use in AC.

You can fight on them BTW, really Cool! Pretties game going I think, well BioShok and a few others are great too, Borderlands, you bet!!

Image Got AC1 from GoGamer today, Dirt Cheap!! :o

Gee I'm on Chapter 5 now session 4 er something to that effect. I just got a cool reward that makes me non-notorious in Most Cities, pretty cool looking. The game would be much

nicer without that stupid DRM crap though, it works kinda a tad buggy, now and then if you loose your connection  Whoever thought of this really is lame, AC2 could have made money, I don't

know how they managed to loose it, it sold 9 mill worth. Add to that all the illegal downloads and the servers are bond to have problems, that's common sense, had the use what they did is AC1

the firt game, they (UbiSolf) would have made money instead it's reported even though they sold 9 mill $$ worth, they still lost 3 mill. Man must have cost a fortune to make, whao!! But it shows

just a beautiful game ;)

My New Cape and I wint back to Red and white outfit, I have the copper, and emerald green already. :D The Red and White's the coolest though. IMHO.
