Yes that topic, I seen a few around, I think I even argued about myself.

I'll have to join in with Boyblue on the issue of declawing. How would you like your finger nails removed? How you gonna pick your nose? Or scratch your nuts?

I use a spray bottle with water when the cats go where I don't want them. But I also have places they can destroy. Kittie condo with sisal rope wound around it. I have one male and 5 females, all of them have been "fixed" and at an early age, with males, they do not have any tendency to mark territory if it's done early enough. I use the clumping litter, but not the kind with any weird crystals. Arm and Hammer.

Boots is a big boy, about 20 LBS. He's a bully, always chasing the girls around. He tries to eat their share of the canned food, but they will kick his ass. I split one 5.5 oz. can between Boots and his 2 sisters in the morning, then again at night. The other 2 girls are "rescues" (momma got squashed by a car) that were out behind my building, and they don't eat canned food. I also leave plenty of water and dry food.

Anyways, back to the skunks.

Whats that smell

Checked the outside trap this morning, nothing in it. Will check the under house trap in the day light

If nothing in it, Ill reset with fresh bait one more day and consider the house skunk free. The smell still lingers.

Friend of mine hit one on the highway once, it stuck to the exhaust pipe. You talk about a smell. He ended up just changing the exhaust system. $300.

Man, I cannot explain how much different the smell is from what you normally smell to what they did the other day.

Generally, I find the scent of the run over skunks or the spray outside almost a lemony citrus / acidic smell, by no means toward the sweet side. I can stand it without issue.

But what they sprayed under the house thru the venting was alot worse. Definitely bad enough to still be in the house now 3 days later.

I heard that tomato juice will take the smell out of things after a shunk has sprays. I have never tried it so I don't if it will really work. Good Luck
