Very Good GB~

Excellent info about "SIGMIODOSCPY"

Lots of folks get it mixed up with what Chuck seems to be talking about a "COLOSTOMY".

The Sigmoid is (the one I had) is a pre Colostomy. In short a check up their to see if they need to go deeper

if they find issues with the SIG they move to the Colostomy. I had two Female Nurses I guess, maybe they were Doctors?

The TEST took about 30 minutes and no pain afterwards, but when they're doing the procedure, it was not FUN!! They

blow AIR in there to get a BETTER picture of things, A CRT Monitor, BTW, not a Widescreen LCD, LOL!!

The screen/picture was too clear!! Yikes, the asked me if I wanted to watch, hum, no but Thanks anyway. :P

I did see the last few frames. Trippy, I'll say that!! I asked how it looked for me? On a scale of 1-10, they said I'm a 9.

See ya in 5 years!! w00t w00t!! :yahoo: The Machine looked like this one::

Though a bit different.

They don't go all the way they just check for signs of Cancer which will show in the Sigmoid.

Man the WWW is wonderful for Knowledge, 15 years ago, it'd take forever to find this info.

So it's all Good, no Signs of Cancer, No Pal-ups, really nothing un-normal about my Butt, LOL!!

A COLOSTOMY is the actual surgical removal of the Colon.
COLONOSCOPY (sp?) is what I was talking about.
I was thinking that SIGMIODOSCPY must have been a West Coast term for the same thing.

Yeah Chuck~

It's very confusing, I explained it as best I can. It's new so unless your Hospital has one you'll prolly

end up with the old School COLONOSCOPY, maybe the guy that made the Machine is in the name, Sigmoid Freud, LOL!!

Blue

Just glad it's over with and I'm good for 5 more years.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy enables the doctor to see only the sigmoid colon, whereas colonoscopy allows the doctor to see the entire colon. Colonoscopy is the preferred screening method for cancers of the colon and rectum; however, to prepare for and perform a flexible sigmoidoscopy usually requires less time.

SIGMOID FREUD!!!
The local hospital here uses the old fashioned stuff and some East Indian doctor performs them.
Things have become more civilized in Raleigh (about 60 miles away) and some of the hospitals and clinics have the new gear.
Worth a 60 mile trip.
