You can remove the "shortcut to..." with a simple registry change (which is what that program will do). I don't know it though.

Same here Muff1n and I've been using Windows Vista Shortcut Manager for a few years myself under Vista 32 HP, Vista Ultimate 64 and now under Windows 7 Ultimate 64 RC 7100 and I haven't had any issues yet? What problems were you talking about? I'd like to know really for future reference in case something nasty happens so I'll know what or who to blame? :) Thanks much.

Sorry took so long to answer this one as I just took the time to do some looking around here & just saw this...
The problem with the Shortcut Manager was it just not working in 64 bit, although now that I think about it the problem most probably was caused
by the build of W7 I was using at the time which I don't remember what it was right now as I've moved on in builds since. :P
I've been following the leaks as the come out & using them to see what gets fixed & is better.
Currently I'm using the x86 RTM Gold signoff build 7600.16385, but next week am going to install the 64bit version of this
& test it out.
I like testing new stuff out... ;)
