WARNING! PAY PAL SCAM E-MAIL!

Postby Mr. Chris » Sat Jun 27, 2009 4:17 pm

DO NOT REPLY TO ANY E-MAIL FROM PAY PAL REGARDING UPDATING YOUR ACCOUNT! It looks real, but it's a nasty!

It is a total fraud! Even the e-mail will try and run malicious code on your PC! When I clicked on the link to update, Firefox blocked it. When I tried to copy the e-mail to post a screen shot, Avast! popped up and blocked whatever code was hidden. Thank the Gods for all the protection I have. Chris.

yeah i learn the hardway a long time ago about this. thats why i have a new account just because of this . and even after righting to paypal about it many times over and over and calling to. so in the end i had no choice but to delete my account with them to end the bs that the email started with me. so now any time i get a email from paypal i delete the email and go to another pc and check paypal my self to make sure nothing was wrong with my account at all, which there never was after all.

so it is good you have the good stuff watching out for you, back then i didnt have it i had IE and mcfee which didnt do diddly .

This was on July 8th. The Pay Pal logo was at the top, too. The links are dead. I hope the scam artists are, too. Chris.

yep i use to get those emails a few times here and there. but at least now i know to do 1 thing and 1 thing only. and that is not to touch any link in the email and i use my other pc to do it. i use my save book mark and i login and check for any messages from them.

and there would be not a dam thing to. so i would send that email along to paypal and let them deal with them. well beside that was what you are supposed to do anyways. you send them to there spoof department and they will take it from there.

i guess i all so have a new account that is not known either now as well would help to. cause it got taking over a few times as well but that was a different story by it self.

Never had Paypal never will. Why? Got me? Just never liked the idea of a

Third party involved with $$$ transactions, to me that spells but one thing, trouble.

JMHO. :D

Oh and Sweet GFX Jon!!

I used to not eBAY, but I have actually found a few items.

I have recieved everything I have purchased so far. I do not like the BIDDING and look for buyout price.

Just ordered a $6 CPU for a friends laptop that is in transit as I type.

I have never recieved a PayPal or eBAY scam mail.

I use Pay Pal a lot actually. To recieve Donations from you guys here, to donate to my clan's server, to pay for items I buy off of Flea Bay, and to get payments for stuff I sell on Flea Bay or Craig's List. Like John said, it beats the heck out of waiting for a check that could bounce, or a Money Order. And I can accept credit card payments that way.

The only thing you have to watch out for on Flea Bay is the $.99 items. Check how much they want for shipping first! I never bid on an item, I just go for the "Buy It Now" price. ;) Chris.

Hummm~

Craig's list at one time was safer than now. Today there are many scammers that just come to look at something, like a

old whatever, car, or camera or what have you, and they may just take it. Point a gun at your head and say ok Thanks Pal.

When it come to PC parts, used I go to a shop a bit out of the way place that sells all, old PC parts. Cheap, real Cheap.

You see what your getting, you know the people who work there, I have become friends with them in the past.

I perfer this method of Buying old stuff or get it form a friend I have know for years on-line.

IMO, shopping at say FRY's is great, and if I shop on-line I stick with New Egg, I know New Egg. Sorta well as much as a guy can.

New Egg is the Ultimate shopping experience, in my Book. Or in person at Fry's. Though Fry's sells some crap. But at least you see it first.

Fry's on line shopping, no I'd not suggest that. I watch a lot of news, and I hear and see, a lot about Craig's List Robbers. It's no

laughing matter. Fleabay, that's a good one, Chris, LOL!! :D Is great for folks that know what there doing THERE, if not stay away.

Hell just what I think, people do what they want in the end. New Egg on line=Safe and Best prices usually. Ebay = Know you Stuff about Ebay.

Or stay away. Shopping on line is risky no matter how you look at it, so FRY's is my pick for in Person Shopping and Great Pricing.

Not to mention they usually have a butt load of PC games!! Hee Yaa!!

Blue

Pay pal is great if you trust them.
