It won't effect your Games DM, don't sweat it. My Realtech Sound Drivers work fine too, so don't know what that's all about?

The problem is not that your sound will not work after SP2. Supposedly the Realtek Drivers installed by SP2 will interfere with your ability to upgrade your drivers in the future when trying to use the official Realtek Drivers. That's how it was explained to me at least. Anyway, LVCoyote also mentioned something about a fix after that as well, so it's likely a dead issue.

Maybe on a Foxconn board... :?: Not on a Gigabyte, it works fine. Gigabytes version of Realtec Drivers and their sound cards are different than

Most, well all MoBos that I know of it's called Azalia Codec. That's my version of Realtek Sound same, but different. It has up to 7.1 sound .

Have no idea what all that really means, only know it works freaking Awesome, great On Board sound!! But then again maybe that's what all you guys have,

look in your MoBo manual for Azalia Codec, I'd I like to know if all boards use it? It is a Realtek Sound card using Azalia Codec is all.

Blue

I'm probably way off base here, LOL!! :P

Blue, it was the same kind of MS screw up with XP when SP3 caused issues with folks trying to install both Realtek and VIA sound drivers after installing SP3. If you had the drives installed before sp3, then you were fine. But try and install them after SP3 and they wouldn't install. There was a patch released for XP SP3 and Vista SP2.

BTW, my Biostar board has Realtek Azalia sound. Works just like any other Realtek 7.1 sound just the driver has a foo foo name is all. :P Chris.
