Iran Blocks Facebook

The goal was to prevent the mobilization of the youth population to unseat the current president.

But, I am thinking here, Is this not going to PISS them off and actually force them to vote against him do to this flaggrant use of governmental power preventing them from enjoying their day to day lives?

Fastest way to persuad me to vote against someone is to take away a freedom and piss me off.

I guess my U.S. mass media influenced point of view about Iran is one of: only the rich people or Government have computers, let alone access to the Internet; there really is no enjoyment in their daily lives anyways because they are all evil Communists bent on the destruction of Democracy and therefore the U.S.; we should nuke the whole country because they will not "cow tow" to the U.S. demands.

But I agree, you take away one of my freedoms for no good reason and I will vote against you. But even then, the ability to vote doesn't mean you won't still lose freedoms. Look at what our wonderful Government has done since 9/11 in the name of Homeland Security. Or DRM. :x We still live in a better place than a lot of other countries. Chris.
