Opinion on network cabling for home and businesses

Postby cas » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:17 am

I was toying the idea of whether should i go for short courses in electrical wiring which consist of install, test and maintain electrical circuits, telephone wiring, data communication points and video cables in residential, commercial and industrial premises.

Or just read up book on Complete Guide to Network Wiring?

Take any schooling that you can, they should give you some hands on training. You can read books all day long and still not get it right when you finally go out to do your first job. Chris.

yeah most definitely go out and get some schooling on it. since i to am better on the hands on then book reading stuff. since it makes more since when its right in front of you and the instructor can tell you that is right or not. but i do know when it comes down to home wiring it depends on the age of the house. like mine which was built 1871!! yes its past old.

so when i went to hook up some extra phone lines or put in some new phone cable i had to figure out what was what. and let me tell ya it was not easy but thats when schooling and experience comes in handy. but with todays stuff i wish i could go back and take some more on the newer stuff right now. cause i could use it and get to know it a lot better . and use it and build from it and also take there network classes as well since that has change alot to.
