New to me Truck....

like a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT.

Anyone have a layout of the Fuse panel? When I open it up, there are just a ton of slots with fuses with numbers from 1-35. Nothing that says what they goto, or even the required amperage per slot.

BTW, cute little truck. Needs some work, like brakes, alignment, front end bushings, gotta get radio working, and so on.

nope :)

Just when I look around there, I do not find them...I do find Repair manuals that require you to become a member...not sure about anyone else, but I am a member of way to much stuff and getting a little tired of all the Ad info they keep sending.

And after checking several of the supposed links in the search engines, I got tired of them just being ad pages and decided to check the wealth of knowledge of a computer forum for autos :D :D :D :P :D

Well, you could always buy a Chilton's. I usually do that for a car that I'm even just working on. Gotta have a manual anyways. ;)

Amen to that, dude. I bought some meds on line last year, and the amount of Viagra and Cialys spam that I get every day is amazing. :?

Also, if you can get one, the factory manual is the best. I spent almost $60 for the Nissan (Datsun actually) manual for my 280Z years ago, and it far surpasses anything that Chilton's or Haynes puts out.

Still have not gotten a factory manual, but bought a Chilton type.....

Got another issue....

its a series of 5 beeps, approximately 1second with a 1second pause....(Maaaaa Maaaaa Maaaaa Maaaaa Maaaaa) cycles 6 times. Starts approx. 30sec - 1 min after putting the truck in drive.

What it is not...
Not got an idiot light on the dash...not to say its not burnt out.
Not the Door ajar.
Not the Seatbelt not fastened.

Time for a code scanner. A decent one is only about $100 at Kragens. That truck is OBDCII I think. Could be a bad door switch (I have to spray some LPS in the door switches on my Z every 6 months) And you're right, could be a bulb burned out in the dash and you are not seeing the light. But, most times, when you first turn the key, the system does a "bulb check" and illuminates all the warning lights.

This truck have any water damage? Could be a burned contact at a bulkhead connector. Found that once on a Lincoln Towncar. Fuel pump connector burned. After suffering thru replacing the in tank pump, still wouldn't start. The dealer wanted $800 to fix it, and they knew there was a Service Bulletin about the problem. A wire nut later the car ran fine. Just bypassed the bulkhead wiring. Amazing what those jackasses at a dealership get away with.

No codes appear on the scanner. Already did that :)

Ill double check the system bulb check tomorrow night and see if one appears to not show up.

Checked with the dealer for recalls or service bulletins?
