Intel's is actually only 4 cores, but with Hyperthreading, it's the same as 8. Since AMD doesn't do Hyperthreading, they are still 2 cores behind. And, Intel has an 8 core CPU coming out, which, with Hyperthreading, would be a 16 core CPU.
