Just a warning about the new Beta. I lost my ability to monitor temps with EVGA Precision 1.7.1 using this. Fan Control and everything else work fine. Just the temp monitor vanished.

LOL, hell, I'm not even sure what driver version I'm using anymore, John! Nvidia with their updates is getting to be like ATI was 5 years ago.

It must be the newest WHQL'd drivers and Precision must also be the newest because I just loaded Win 7. Temp monitor and fan speed working fine here. Chris.

Yeah more than likely you're using the 186.18 WHQL's. Nvidia like ATI puts out a WHQL pretty much monthly and then there is usually a Beta once during the month. I went back to the 185.85 WHQLs to test something out for a MOD at PCPerspective.com myself. They were an excellent driver set for me as well so I think I'll stick with these until the next set comes out and hopefully a new compatible version of EVGA Precision.

Nvidia Geforce/ION 190.38 WHQL Driver

Postby honestjohn » Tue Jul 21, 2009 3:03 pm

Well this Beta Set just got stamped WHQL. Should be the same driver as the Beta, however I've read some feedback on these and someone said the file size is different and some say issues they had with the Beta are gone?? Could be just a second load of the 190.38's sorted it out for them though. I'm a sucker for divers so I'm going to load them.

Edit: Just compared them myself and the file size unzipped is the same.

Well the bug I had with the betas and EVGA Precision is gone using these WHQL's and my temp monitoring is now working again. I'm wondering if they just fixed the installation issues instead of the drivers themselves.

Did you load the Beta or WHQL Scavy? Shouldn't make a difference really, but that happened to me when I was running the Beta's. The WHQL's are working fine for me now though and this was the process I went through, not intentionally though.

I first did a driver cleanout and reverted to the 185.85's to test something for a Review Mod at PCPerspective. Then today went straight to the 190.38 WHQL's. Skipped the 186.xx sets. Skipped the driver cleanout and temp monitoring was restored.

I originally had a helluva time loading the 190.38 Beta drivers though. I had to install the Beta's twice to get the NV Control Panel Working, prior to that they wouldn't load at all and I had to remove the 186.xx set first with a driver cleanout. Thought it was just something screwy with my setup. The more I think about it, I'm thinking that 186.xx driver set may have caused the problems I was having. The WHQL's are working fine for me now after skipping the 186.xx set.

the wqhl driver is what i am having trouble with reading temp on my gpu right now. since everest is not showing anything for my gpu right now. and even OCCT is not showing nothing either. only thing that will show gpu temp is gpuZ. so i am not sure if i want to even keep these in vista right now. hell i even gave precision tune a try and it show nothing for gpu temps.
