I just ran the Registry Tool and it did come up with about 6 or 7 of the ActiveX/COM. But most of them were for my photoshop Elements 7.0. I have none of those that you are getting.

Go into msconfig and see if any of that stuff is running and turn it off and see what happens. I'm running the 64bit on my AB9 Quad GT and the 32bit on my mini computer.

I'm having two problems #1 Spysweeper and #2 is when I come out of the sleep mode the screen will be 1600x1200 or 1280x1024.

I can turn off WMC in Programs and Features, but Windows pops up and says that other Windows programs may not work correctly if I do that.

Now I'm wondering if one of the games I installed messed up some files that WMC needs. Maybe I'll try doing a Repair of Win 7 using the install disk. See what that does. Chris.

What is WMC ? is it a windows program or a program that you are using.

I ran WMC because I thought that is what it was. I was just asking to make sure. I still didn't get any of the errors after I ran WMC. I know this has nothing to do with it. My brother was running Powerdesk and was screwing with his IE. It sound like one of the programs that you installed that WMC doesn't like or it doesn't like WMC. The really only thing that I'm having problems with is I never know what my display is going to be set at coming out of sleepmode. Other then that it is running great so far.

WMC seems pretty useless for me right now. Since I don't play movies on my PC, and I don't have a TV tuner card, which is something WMC complained about. The interface looks really nice tho. Chris.

Now this is interesting. I'm having some issues with installing the latest Nvidia graphics drivers. So I thought I'd do a Registry cleanup.

No ActiveX/ COM errors. None. Zip. Nada. Media Center's still installed, too. I wonder if MS slipped in an update to Win 7 without me seeing it? I have WU set so it will "download but not install" .

Well did any of the updates say "Fixes ActiveX and COM errors in the registry" :) - Wait, it downloads but does not install....are you sure they did not sneak in a super-powerful-automatic update under the cover of darkness?

Sounds good. How often is the rebooting of the unit?

Reboot it about once a week. Otherwise it's on 24/7 since I run Folding on the video card. I'll have a look in Programs and Features and see if there war a "secret" update recently. Maybe it is time for a reboot also. ;)

EDIT: there was an update back on 9/09/09 but I think I remember telling Windows to install that one. But I don't remember if I ran CCleaner after that.

Did we ever rule out the Folding? Like no updates to the program or the video drivers since the issue?
