Checksum bad error

Checksum bad error

Asking on behalf for someone who encounter the above. So far i've encounter cmos checksum before but not the above. Was told by the person, it occur all of a sudden, any idea what could be the cause?

Ummmm, a little more info would be cool. did this happen during boot up? If so it's probably the same thing as a CMOS Checksum Error, it's just that the wording is different. Usually a dead CMOS backup battery. Chris.

Initially i thought was due to low cmos batt and verify with the other party but was told that the time and date is accurate. Was told he didn't flash it's bios as well

You didnt state when it happens. At what point it happens. What they are doing when it happens.


We dont have any Hardware specs on it.

Cheapest way to rule the Battery out is replace it. Best way to check the Battery is unplug the computer overnight and see if the time/date get reset then.


Could easily be that the PSU is having issues, or the memory is going bad.
