STEAM USERS 2010- SPECS

Postby BlueMonster » Tue Mar 09, 2010 1:06 am

Below is what Steam is reporting as the most used popular whatever, system specs, IE; What Kinda RIGS we run. :read:

Hope you guys can read it. Kinda small print used. Interesting facts about Steam users. IMHO. Still XP is TOP Dawg I find that rather odd.

However Windows 7 is second (64 bit/32 bit) and GROWING FAST!! Vid cards most used NV, ATI is right up there as well, Intel vid cards

why bother??

Next CPU's, Core Duo Intels, seem to be most used with Quads Growing Fast. i3, i5, and i7 CPU's are rare (low percentage of users)

Again AMD CPU's are Right up there. Furthermore ATI GFX cards are gaining ground as I see it, time will tell? NV=65%, ATI= 29+ % the rest Other, LOL!! :D

System RAM, I'm way out there @ 8 GIGS. Only about .08% use over 4 GIGS. System RAM. What I found strange as well is the amount of FREE HDD space!!

About 10-20 GIGS, I personally never fill a HDD over 1/2, maybe 1/3, so out of 500 GIGS I have about 300 FREE GIGS. One of my Brothers uses all but 10 GIGS

like Steam says. I always like a Huge Pagefile, myself as well as a GANG of RAM!! :clapping: :good:

I may have miss quoted some items, but was it was just a Quick read through. ;)

Most Popular VID RAM=512, all other sized V-RAM are rare. Over 1 GIG V-RAM is rare. As well. 2 GIGS rarer still.

Hummmm:: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATWhZ189D5s GEE HOPE SO, have to wait and see... :o

Blue

If any of that YouTube VID is true or Most, whatever, these 300 series cards are no joke. :9:

My next build I may SLI 2 EvGa GTX 275 FTW cards??!! TWO of these cards would FLY, I'd say...No I'll get a 300 Series Card really, but wait 'till the price WARS begin!! :P

However at the Moment there is not a game my card can't run, and run very well. But then it's all how games are optimized IMO, a Great Game runs smooth, bad and or poor

Optimizing will in fact KILL a otherwise Great Game. 'Nuff Said....you can find this info at your Steam Account, BTW.

Great Deals Chris!! Steams like GoGamer if you keep on eye on the site, and really pay attention

man you can find awesome deals!!Like Those FEAR Games, all Fantastic.

There's a lot to be said for folks that can hold out and NOT buy when released, wait they always drop fast.

Again Great Find Chris, like me and my GOG games, nobody cares about them it seems, but I love the old school PC games

reminds me of some great times and Great Memories plus the all run on Vista/Win 7, I'm playing Outcast it's older than dirt, but I love to see how games have evolved and

personally not all for the better. I love Quick Save, so I can just quit anytime I want and not have to load the last check point, you know the one I didn't make it too, LOL!!

I'd sure LOVE to see all PC games go BACK to Quick saves. One reason they removed them is to make games take more time to play, if you have Quick Save a game can

go as fast as you want or slow. Up to US. Now it's all Checkpoints, that's also a carryover of code written for console games. They are used to it, me I Love QUICK SAVES.

Oh well, just roll with what they DISH out.

The First FEAR is still my Favorite. :9: Of the FEAR series. :yahoo:
