Didn't know where to put this didn't want to start a new thread for it, so I talk about my OAG's here (Old ASS Games)
Anyhow Steam has this game and it should run fine on any Windows OS as that's what the System requirements from
Steam are for the os Windows-ALL.
Any but Win7 apparently.... 
The Box:: (well mine looks like this, I have the Original 1998 release. whoa!! KP runs on an enhanced Q2 Engine.
itis really a cool engine, timeless. Sorta, LOL
It need a mere 64 megs of ram, should tell you how old it is.
Don't know how the Steam version runs or GOG version? However on either download the game is optimized to run on Vista.
Oldie but Moldy Game
It's Ozzing with Atmosphere, it uses music from Cyprus Hill fits the game perfect or you can play your own Music CDthat's the way they did it back then, ah the Good 'Ol Daze!! Of PC gaming no disk required either after install
The GFX are differentfor sure every body in the game looks like the Hulk, with 20 in Necks and 30" Arms etc. Kinda cool I think
I posted about this game at uabit as well BTW. Not many folks share my love for old PC games, it's not about the GFX it's about story bnd Game play.
It's a HUGE SP game and in it's day had a huge MP following, use HEAT, recall them?
Oh and my Game is full of warnings about being a M game and they mean it every other word starts with "F" and the Models are Gangbangers,
with Neddle mark and all, tats everywhere!! It runs fast as F%$k but doesn't like XP, Vista or Win7. You have to set comparability mode at win 98/ME.
I'll shut up about it. But you can get it as I said Optimuized for Vista etc from Steam of GOG.com. For under 10 bucks. Lot of game for that price.
There is a 1.1 patch but it was removed from the web when it was stated being sold at GOG and Steam, Dammit!! (found the Patch v1.3)

Play this game on easy trust me. It runs at like 400fps on a new RIG. The Bad guys are FAST for their size, HUGE AAA size!!

of cheats for it, If you just want to kick ass, I used a couple just to get my first Pistol, Man it's not easy. But it;s SP so if I play
and OLD SP game I will use cheat codes to get going, sometimes.
Never cheayt in P gaming but in an old game like this you way want too. I mean there are rats all of the place that gnaw at your health!! Even!!

Idea/Originality
I remember when it first came out, and it had original story, concept, music and speech... somehow it all blends in perfectly....a lot of games even new always leak on some parts....
Storyline
Circles around street bandits, mobsters, mafia...as you were left in an alley beaten up...you set up to get your revenge..because they didn't know with who they were messing with...
Sounds/Music
Excellent unique brutal language....that even after all this years is stuck in my head reminding me of this game...
Music fits the game perfectly...I never listen to this type of music...but in the game...perfect...passing through bars music change...creating the Kingpin atmosphere....
Graphics
In that time graphics was good....even now is solid if you decrease brightness making the game more darker so you can't see old graphics and even the game looks better with dark streets...
Mission updates/Debriefing/Quests
Really good accompanied with animations of certain events or deals going on....even some of the new games lack this...
Gameplay
Awesome gameplay...playable in realistic mode...I recommend to anyone to try and pass the game in this difficulty...awesome....one shotgun blast kills you instantly...I remember one time at the beginning, the guard of the warehouse chased me leaving a blood bath...he blasted the entire map including me and walked away slowly saying Fu... Pu.. A.. this stuck in my head forever...by the way I passed the game in realistic so don't think its impossible...Until now I never came across a game where you can play Realistic so this makes Kingpin unique...
Another excellent part what is unique for this game...are the followers, they will follow you anywhere even in the air vent...I never came across this in other games...where you usually are frustrated by their stupidity....
You can support up to 2 mercenary...and you can order them to stay put...also their body is displayed as a health bar on the screen...they will use vulgar language at the enemies even warn you that they are wounded...
There is a variety of mercenaries from crowbar to various weapons...my favorite were the guys at the beginning handling 2 pistols...but not effective....the most effective were with Tommy guns in pair they would cut anything on their path...
Also taking a female mercenary with a shotgun ...nice....
Interesting for me was to loot corpses for cash...
AI
Good Artificial intelligence...making your mercenaries and enemies chase each other with a lot of swearing and bullet language...
Weapons/Armor/Upgrades
A variety of weapons where some of them are upgradable in Shops "Pawn-O-Matic"...like faster reload...silencer...or buy some body armor, health, ammo...
Multiplayer
Unique concept where you can choose the type of character you'll play either slim or fat...and also choose to wear hats or cigarettes or different types of clothing shirts and pants separately even including your underwear....uhhh boy a laughed plenty times shooting some fat dude with a Cuban cigar dressed up in his underwear.... a lot of games just lets you take some ugly character...while here you can create your own....
Blue
Long Ass fun SP game!! GFX are way out of date but doesn't bother me.
OH and this game is NOT for the Family!!

Oldschool PC gaming, very nice game...Hay that's about the size of my Porcelain Presents, LOL!!
Above is a Side Kick or GUN FOR hire, you can have two of them and they will shot and beat down your foes!! (THUGS)
We just got in a Shoot out and hes a BIT banged up, LOL, they always leave buckets of blood when they are hurt, LOL!!
But hell it's always worth it. IMO.
