This game Looks Hella Sweet Chris!!

Damnation

Image

This Image Makes a SWEET Wallpaper, Centered.

Steam Punk Game, that's what they call the Game style. Meaning it's a Steam Powered World, everything runs and works via Steam.

It looks like the controlling might be tricky on the PC, w/keyboard and Mouse, unless they did it a lot different than, Tomb Raider etc.

The Punk part eludes me. LOL!!

I used my Favorite Gaming site to get my info:: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/damnation/index.html GameSpot

GS has it all, links to other sites review, vids, images, Patches you name it, also has links to the games main website and so on.

Kinda reminds me of "The Wild Wild West", the Movie with Will smith etc.

Anyway I think this game will be a HIT!! :yahoo:

So please keep us posted Chris, I'm dying to know how well the controls work with the PC and Such, it is SP right...?

Blue

Good for You Chris!! I love all the Weapons, Steam powered!! Look GREAT, just look at that gun in the pic.

Well I should have read more about the "moves" as they call them because from what I saw it may work better with a game controller than keyboard/ mouse. I suppose that really tells us that it's a port from consoles. :( But I suppose it's easier to got from console to PC than from PC to console. I dunno. At least it wasn't $50. I'll find out. Unlocks in 1 day and 7 hours. Chris.

I can't wait that long Chris, can you speed up that Download, unpacking thing?

I just hope it's easy to control your Dude, if it's like Tomb Raider or all the others,

out there, Keyboard and Mouse are Harder, what about Assassins Creed, wonder how the k&m worked with it.

Prince of Persia , did you play it? I hated the Controls for it with k&m, maybe the newer POP games are better, not

sure, ok have no idea. Tomb Raider as in the latest ones, with Crystal Dynamics, are the best I've seen, but still hard in some areas.

The First Blood Ryane was Excellent on the PC, the second BR2, was ridiculously Hard to control, had awesome GFX though.

So I guess it all boils down to how much effort is put forth to make these Type Games, k&m Friendly.

You watch the Videos of the game, Damnation, they make it look like it's VERY simple to Control, which can be miss-leading IMO.

I Hope like Hell it's PC Friendly with k&m. Cuz it sure LOOKS COOL as HELL!! It all looks Great, hope it is!!

Keep us updated Chris :beg: :clapping:

Chris HELLO!! Knock, Knock!!

Lets have it, I know you've got to have tried Damnation By Now!! I sit really a 5.0 game

like GanmeSpot says??!! That's 5 out of 10 BTW. not to swell!! Biggest Beef is Over hyped and GFX kinda Suck.

It uses the UT3 Engine too, I can't figure out How these DEV Teams Screw that Engine UP!!?? It is said to be Pixelated, and the cut

Scenes are the worst. But then some Guys seem to love it? So give us the SCOOP!!

:yahoo: :clapping: :taunt:

Blue

Oh and No Demo, in fact the only Demo ever seen was from the Dev Team playing it, they wouldn't let Critics play it at all.

Until the Final release. Sure wish all PC games had a DEMO!! DAMMIT!!

These critics have their heads up their asses. The same ones that said Second Sight was a 9? Gave this a 5? Come on, really, they suk. They're probably just mad they didn't get a first play before it went to release.

Cut scenes are funky with some tearing but there's no pixelation, at least not at 1600x1200, which the game set the resolution for my rig at automatically BTW. Graphics look fine so far, actually it's very much similar to Dark Sector in that distances are out of focus. But there's color so it's not all doom and gloom. The particle physics of breaking glass is sweet. The vertical scale, as they call, it is huge. Buildings are on tall hills, you go from hill to hill by sliding down a rope, it's fun actually. You just jump up and your hands grab and you slide down. If you jump across a gap that is just a bit too wide to make it standing up, your hands grab the edge, you can move side to side or climb up. I have yet to fall, but it's a long way down!

Screen shot time:

That's me on the right, the Professor, and of course there has to be a babe:

steampunk motorcycles (can't ride them yet this is from the intro):

The only beef I have so far is that to bring up your weapon, you have to hold the right mouse button, otherwise you're in hand combat mode. To zoom in, hole the right mouse then press the scroll wheel. That's about the only weird control combo, there are no weird key combo's.

So after 30 minutes or so I definately like it. Not in love with it but I like it. More later! Chris.

So here I was playing just fine, thinking this game is easy actually because so far it is. Really pretty game too.

But then I got to "The Wall Jump" where you kinda jump up and bounce off one wall to get high enough up to another ledge. IT DOESN'T WORK. I tried everything for an hour, almost got it several times but I just can't quite get the "bounce up" so already stuck. It's a shame too because it was just getting fun. I'll keep trying not gonna give up just yet. Gonna hunt down a walk thru. See what I can find out. Chris.

I forgot to turn on FRAPS yesterday before I started playing or I would have a bunch more screens to show. It really is a beautiful game and up until now it was fun. The controls are easy once you get used to them it's just this one move that has me stuck. I posted at the Damnation Forums last night I'll see what they have to say.

I did see at the game's Forums that ATI cards are having issues with the game crashing, but it's got to be a driver issue because I was able to get way past where those guys crashed at. Chris.

A controller is a must for some of these button mashers almost no physical way to hit the buttons fast enough with a keyboard. I hope it is good I love the way it looks.
