Maybe 45 min. to an hour Whoa, these short tech demos are getting old. :D

What happened to the daze of 5 levels of Free game play, or so. Doom, Duke Nukem 3d etc. Oh well, think I'll pass on this Demo.

But, I'd like to know what you guys think of it!! ;)

Prolly like the Trailers?? Is my bet?

1.76GB? Man, reminds me of the stranglehold demo (over 2GB and only 15 mins of gameplay). Why are demos so big but so short?

Wow. Wow. Wow. Now I really can't wait. I'm getting goose bumps thinking about this demo. Yeah, about an hour, I had to go thru that part were the bus falls on your ass a couple times till I figured which way I should run. Weapons are way cool even tho there's only a couple. Graphics have kind of a film graininess to them. No quick save, it's got checkpoints.

Creepy, scary, dark, bloody, deliciously F.E.A.R.. Guys stuck to walls and ceilings, some dead, some jump out at you. Did I say creepy? This one will be a must get. :9: Chris.

I don't know if the Australian censors have allowed it yet. Last I heard it was banned here. Most likely it will get "diluted".

Guess I got lucky as I backed up into the right spot where the bus didn't come near me the first time I tried it. :D

The graphics are pretty good, but as good as Crysis, Dead Space, or Far Cry 2, but ....... the game is also barn-burner. I had all the settings maxed and with V-Sync enabled I pegged 60 FPS and it did not drop from there at all.

Creepy? Absolutely. Loved it, very fast action as well. After playing Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 moving like a slug half the time, I had to majorly adjust to the speed of the game. Tons of fun. :9: :9:

Few shots below. Couldn't capture many because it moves so fast. Most of my screenshots were actually blurry. :P

Nice atmosphere in the beginning, really set the mood ...

That power armor is gonna be great. Sniper rifle is sweet. Assault rifle and shotty are cool.
I hate games with checkpoints, tho, and there wasn't one single checkpoint in the whole demo! It was a good 35 minutes the second (or was it third?) time thru. Still gave me the creeps. Wish it was out for pre order thru Steam. I could get it a lot of other places, tho. Chris.

Chris, I usually can't stand Checkpoints either, but some games aren't too bad if they're well placed. I didn't mind them at all in Turok for example. I counted two checkpoints in the Fear 2 demo though, the demo just doesn't save them unfortunately. The first checkpoint was when you first came out from under the school to the bus station, and the second was when you get the big armored robo-suit. When I got to the first one, I exited the game and when I went back to it, that's how I found out they weren't saving.

You're right though about it being creepy. It has the same creep-out factor as the movie "The Ring", same creepy little girl too. Great game and I'll be looking on EBay for used copies after it comes out.

I'm also giving Fallout 3 another chance. Going to play it a bit differently this time though. Like you, I'm really not a RPG kinda guy, but I was just thinking today that I probably made the game harder on myself than it actually had to be. Every person I met in the game, I asked them every question in the list of things available to ask. If you're in town, forget about it, you could just talk for hours to
people. :D Anyway, what I could have done was just ask one question or maybe two and then just said see you later most of the time. So I'm betting if I don't play Columbo and Act more than Talk, I'll make a "Shooter" out of this game yet.
