Well, even with all the things that reviewer from Gamespot said, it's still freaking awesome. Played about 4 hours so far, kept pressing the F10 key to get some cool screenshots, but forgot to start up FRAPS. :o :( I'll get some screenies tomorrow. Man this game is spooky. Not quite like the original, but there have been a few areas that scare the shit out of you. Chris.
1)Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, Phenom II 970, 8Gb G Skill Sniper 1866, EVGA GTX470SC, 2x 500Gb SATA II RAID 0, Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit RTM
2) AX78, Phenom 9500, 2Gb OCZ PC6400, EVGA 9800GTX+, CDRW, XP Pro SP2
3) AX78, Phenom 9600, 2Gb OZC PC6400, EVGA 9800GTX, CDRW/DVD, CM CP600PCAR 600W, XP Pro Sp2

All righty now, here's some screens:

Fire effects are pretty good: If you shoot yellow barrels, oxygen tanks, propane tanks, fire extinguishers they will explode!

This guy's head got thrown in the washer:

Gore factor is way better/ more gross than any other FEAR:
Image

Napalm gun:
Image

Scariest guys so far, they move fast, climb walls and ceilings, when you kick them off of you, their bodies twist like the torso has a swivel:
Image

Took forever to get back to the surface, these people fried in the explosion and are made of ash. Touch them and they go "poof":
Image

This guy was having a real bad day. He was powering up all the dead Replica soldiers with huge burst of energy:

I found the airliner that crashed:

So, the reviews were pretty much right, it's not as scary as the original but it's still FEAR-Fun. Great weapons, not glitching, no crashing, no pauses. The checkpoints work great, there are lots of them so if you do die you don't have to go back very far. Did I mention the automatic shotgun? Chris.

wow i like it as well. but i have only played the demo so far, like 4 times lol. but i wont be able to buy this. since i just had to put my back up spare psu into my main rig today. not to happy about that since this is the 2nd time this Tagan has died on me. got it in Oct 2006 1st rma was Aug 2007 . now it does it again. if they do not warranty it i am no longer gonna buy any more of there psu again.

i have the OCZ 700watt GXS in now. its a much smaller size psu then most this size.

now there is a lot more room up in the top of my case.

this game looks cool to me.. i read its short. i guess that would be my only complaint.i read it pretty much runs perfect out of the box..thats a good thing. gamespot trips me out how it rates games.. it seems to give the most buggy and problematic games higher ratings.. and id guess the games that has poured more money into ad space gets better ratings too..

i prefer the fan or user ratings my self.. other than fan boy favor. at least you can read of true game play and or bugs etc. from the normal person.and read how the game acts on different system set ups etc. the game sites want money. and a lot of the said critic sites just want to act cute. and mostly want to cuss and try to act cool. and his reviews are more based on if he likes a title or genre or not.. folks miss the fact both type sites post opinions.you can have a great game hyped by fan boys or put down by them that just do not like the title or genre. and fan boys will lie and attack folks for his beloved wacked out and buggy crap games [stalker] ha ha.. so..

i more worry on.. is it buggy. will it work and play right.. is it cool and long enough of a sp game for my money.. should i wait and maybe buy it after its been patched and cost less etc.. if a game is too short sp or is a buggy mess out of the box and half works.. well it should get an auto 7 or less rating on all sites in my opinion. and i know straight up not to buy it anytime soon..

this is short. so im not pressed to buy it anytime soon.. i will get it someday tho..

have fun.. see ya :D :9:

As far as being short, I suppose if you run and gun right thru it probably is. I've been playing about 7 hours now and I just got to the school. Not sure how much more is left, tho. I like to look around for goodies: ammo, armor, health, you gotta search all the soldiers that you kill for better weapons/ ammo/ the occasional health syringe. But it was $49.95, so yeah, wait a while someone will be selling their copy on E-Bay ;)

I forgot to mention or get shots of the Mech's, they are way cool. Easy to operate. And they will auto repair, minor repairs as you go along, for the major stuff it asks you to get out, then give it a minute and it's ready to rock and roll again. There's a lot of places they can't go, tho, but a lot of areas that they can. Great addition to this version of the game. Chris.

Yeah, that was one of my favorite parts of the demo, using the Mech. Game looks great though and if it's better than the demo, I haven't a clue why the review sites don't like it better. I guess anytime some one makes a sequel of great game or movie, it's a tough act to follow.
