How are the controls on this game. I use a logitech trackball and I'm just asking. When I play Hellgate London, all I have to do is hold down on the W and I can do everything else with mouse. With the trackball I can turn all the way around. Without using the A & D keys.

That should workout OK for you but here are a few tips from someone that didn't read the manual. Struggled a bit at first because I didn't. I would suggest you look at it. I also changes the keys for some things like using Zero G. Rather than CTRL I made it "G" so it was easier to remember. Below I used the default keys.

To shoot you need to aim and hold the right mouse button and then fire with the left. Capslock will toggle and hold your aim on if you wish.

Pressing left mouse button by itself is the melee key for swings your weapon as a club more or less.

To use stasis module you need to aim first, by holding down the left mouse button, then press "C" to activate.

To use kenisis module you need to aim first by holding down the left mouse button, then press "F" to activate. Use left mouse button to throw object.

Scrolling does not work to change weapons unfortunately. You need to pick and switch using number keys. This was about my only gripe with the game.

To use Zero-G gravity when you can, hold and aim with right mouse button on area you wish to jump to and press CTRL. If it flashes red around the ammo number counter that means you cannot jump to that surface.

To open cases by stamping on them use the Spacebar.

Breadcrumbs shows you the way by pressing "B". Hardly ever used the map myself.

Map is "M" of course.

To access your Rig press Tab

Recommend keeping an extra can of air and a couple of extra stasis modules in your inventory if you need them in emergencies.

Also watch your inventory. You can carry a maximum ammount of items and you'll need to drop something to pickup something if you're full.

Good luck. The crew of the Ishimura are depending on you! :club:

HJ

Thanks for the info and I don't know if you or Blue do any cheating with the games. I'm with a site that does a lot trainers, cheats, and walk thoughts. It is called cheat happens. They too have a forum on the site. :good:

No thanks, I prefer to suffer ...

So far, the only game that has ever driven me into using a trainer was Jericho and I only used it to take care of those parts that needed those keystroke combos. I'm not counting Kings Quest from 1990 either ... :P

Nice Screenies Scav and I have just gotten to the very end myself. You may want to consider pulling those spoiler pics though as to not ruin the ending for others. It's kind of like telling someone the ending of a movie before they go see it. What Blue and I usually do is just post links to the pics and say spoilers above it. That way others can look if they want and it doesn't ruin the surprise at the end for them. Up to you though.

I'm ready to start another game as well, but giving it a breather to play FO3. Yes as Scavy pointed out

when you finish the game, you get to start over with All your stuff, Suits etc. that you had upon Completion

of your first go through, I don't know anything about a Level 6 suit as I have not played round 2. It is cool

though as it gives more reason to replay the game!! ;) Best of Luck DM, BTW I never used the Melee Key.

I did a lot of Stomping though, the only real keys smashing you'll have to do is when an Alien/Monster/Thing

gets ahold of ya, you'll have to hit the "E" keys as fast as you can to live, get whatever it is off you, if it's the tiny

Chomping Things, you'll kill them in the process, as I recall, other monsters you'll just break their grip on you.

Rather than doing any cheating, try and play it as is, all you really need is a quick peek into a walkthrough to

get you through a really tough area, I used one for the Dreaded Asteroid level area. :o Other than that you shouldn't

need one, and honestly if you just keep at it, you'll get through. :bb:

Just finished and made it to the end, then started a brand new game just to see what it was like. Did you guys get all the items in screenie below when you beat the game the first time? 50,000 Credits? Holy Crap I'm rich!! :D Also got 10 Power Nodes. I think I'm going to max out my favorite weapons in upgrades. With all this extra stuff the second time should be a breeze. Probably should bump up the difficulty setting from Medium to the next. Anyway, loved the game although it definitely takes some practice to get it down. Can't make up my mind now whether to play Far Cry 2 again or Dead Space. I'm leaning toward Dead Space since I can afford a few more toys and I would like to see how that Flame Thrower works  Thanks Blue, the game was phenomenal. Every time I think about walking viruses that could disembowel me in the blink of an eye, I'll think of you...
