I'd gotten my nephew to try the demo and he liked it a lot, but not enough for pay full price for the game. He's waiting for it to hit USD10 or less before he'll jump on it. I gotta say, he's sure as hell frugal when it comes to paying for games, just the other day he'd told me that he'd just gotten Far Cry 2 simply because it was about 5USD IIRC.....LOL, he sure as hell is cheap! Gotta say this though, he's much better than me when it comes to saving deniros.

BTW, just updated HD4850 to a HD5770 for my 3rd rig, now all three rigs are DX11 capable.....

check those out i didnt take many screen shots but i did get some nice vids of it while i played lol

Yeah, the game is very nice looking, but just from playing the demo, I can tell it's no sandbox game

Not a opened ended RPG, either. It's a linear game, as Erik says. Which is ok, it it has a gang of missions (levels whatever)

like the original Halflife, 30 levels or so, like the original Quake, or Q2!! Q2 is long. great SP game. Or the first Duke

Nukem Nuclear Meltdown, ha ha. :D SP games get shorter all the time, as MP games are much, much cheaper to make.

I like FO3 a lot, FarCry2, games like that. Bioshock!! Great games in my book!! FarCry3 will be here before long, and OMG!!

Duke Nukem Forever!!

LOL!! Remember Quake 2!!! :yahoo:

My point was it plays and acts like stalker but is more hard you have 4 bullets all game. Folks that did not like or think stalker was a hard game- well metro might not be for them. Some folks buy games just to say they own them is fine too. It is a few here that have many many games and never completed a one of them. Some people have it like that.

If just want it to have it is one thing. I would not waste 5-10 bucks on it if I did not like stalker games- And its said glitchy also. Do what you like and you might like metro. I plan to get it but I like stalker stuff- so.. :D :9:

That would be someone like me. No, I don't buy every game that comes out just to say "I HAVE IT!!!!!" But, if it looks good, and if I buy into the hype, I'll try it out. Sad that there are just a few games with demo's nowadays. So if I buy into the hype and buy the game, and it get's boring, or too damn difficult, too damn buggy, or just plain done wrong like Damnation was, I give it the heave ho. Off the drive it goes.

Bethesda, yeah, I loved Damnation. Yeah. What a piece of shit that was. What a sorry ass support site they have. Sorry, if I need a game pad controller to play a PC game, it ain't a PC game. I don't own a console and don't intend to. The day they stop making games for PC's is the day I drink myself into a coma.

I have seen folks at other sites with many games and never finish a lot of them. I guess have so many they never really get back or give another go or really care. I stopped installing demos long ago- as said they are short and then delete and all the defrags etc. Then some can add junk or might mess up your os. I mostly stopped demos back when ea what ever started adding ads to games.

I figure I have to try games to see if I like them- a demo is but a lil part and maybe only good or working part ha ha. Just hype and reviews mean lil any more. I have to get and play them to see if I like them. I get um when I get um and have games I like and play. Its all good.. :D

I agree, what you say is true. But, a good 20 minute demo would give me a nice taste before I spend $50 or $60 on a game I don't like, or is just too damn difficult. I never finished Far Cry 1 because, even on wimp, it was too damn hard!

Erik and Blue and Gamer Dude, y'all are hard core. Me, I still play ETQW and my train sim. OK, I'll replay FEAR, Frontlines. Far Cry 2. Avatar.

Gads, I have so many games on Steam, it's like obscene! 70 games? Holy crap! And there's 3 more upcoming that I want, really really really bad!

Guess I'm not only a food junkie, an alcoholic, but a game addict as well! (good thing I quit smoking, and have been off the booze for 8 months)

Ocked this up yesterday Digtal Download through Amazon whom actually does the

Installation part of game (see WOW!!) thread by Chris, so after trial and error I

got METRO 2033 installed in my Steam Library and my Amazon Game Library.

I still like the way GOG games does things way better than Steam IMHO. :D

So I played for a couple HOURS, just LOVE the GFX in Metro anyhow I thought I set FRAPS

and took a gang of shots, well I forgot to set FRAPS and have no shots at all. (btw does Steam Screenshot's work well??)

At any rate I played the DEMO for Metro 2033 and I was hooked, they took out a lot of the Stalker CRAP element.

Which I think is great, no mammoth Inventory to Mess with all the damn time, you still upgrade stuff (guns mostly).

But Metro 2033 is not all open ended sandbox style game, it's liner. Which again I don't mind!! The New Compass and Lighter

system rocks big time wish all FPS and a like were done like that, or a simple key to show HUD or NOT would be fine as well.

So I'm on Chapter 2 I think, I'll take shots later after that point. Wish it had a better save system too, consoles SCREW

that up for us though, Bastages!! So far I really enjoy the game, but have to finish ALAN WAKE too, got an Episode

and DLC(s) to do too...I think two, as I have the Uber-Duber Edition of ALAN WAKE ;)

In game I have it maxed out @1920X1080, runs great and looks even better, this is just a reference shot... :good:

I do plan to get this someday..

Stalker is not so hard or its inventory so bad. Stalker is what it is. You do not need to pick up or carry so much and do not need all you do carry other than some food or health anti rad and many bullets- everything else is to sell to buy stuff upgrades what ever and is more to real life..

You just have to shoot the bots in the head is about it- which is not a bad thing it helps ya skills and makes head shots more easy in other games also. It is fact in most every shooter known to man- the head takes more damage or can kill or die faster being shot in the head- so.

I think what I will like less is being stuck in the tunnels all the time and just outside for real short times.. Last light I think you will be able to go out more and the world a lil larger per say..

Stalker was bug from the start that is what turned so many folks off with it- many never tried again or would get flustered fast maybe.. After patched and tweaked it is still one of the best games ever imo. Lost Alpha mod come out it will be great again. It will be like a total new game old school like it was meant to be and free..

Metro just carries on the feeling and look and lonelyness and desporation found in stalker- and dark creepy environmental- its more new it should look better but so does stalker cs and cop- so.. The same guys worked on both games but thq says the metro engine is different- which they would have to for copy rights sake and gsc owns the rights to the xray engine.. So thq would either have to pay to use it or invent one maybe using the xray as a guide. Which most all game engines are redone past engines or add stuff and can say it is his own.. Few create anything from the start or ground up and not borrow from anothers.

The whole reason or real reason I even think of getting this linear game is because it is like stalker in lots of ways- or the lighting and engine.. My thing these days are the open world sandbox type a-rgp rps games.. The only draw to this for me is stalker- so.. :D :9:
