thanks Chris. yes painting this old case has made a huge difference in it all ready. in just the few piece i have finish so far. it looks totally like a new case.

cant wait to finish the case it self and then start to put the pieces back together again to see what it will really look like then. and then start to put the hardware back into it as well.

just think with the other clear coat you would not have been able to see that but a color maybe. but wow what a difference in brands in clear coats make. thats for sure and that no sanding at all and now its time for me to get going on it since it is nice and sunny out now i can let the case warm up in the sun.

then start to put another coat on it and let the sun back it in so it will be ready for another coat. and 1 of the hard drive cages i have to touch up. i moved it and it got a few chips so i hope i have enough gold paint to get it done.

since engine paint is not cheap lol

Did you scuff the HD carriage prior to painting? When you said chips, this has me worried.

yes , but i chip it when i moved it out of my way and it bounce off of my tool chest in the garage . which made me very freaking mad :banghead: cause it was the main cage that sit right on the top. and now i have to go and try to touch it up with what i have left. well i hope there is enough in the can to do so.

i thing i did forget to paint was the pci slot cover. but i think i wont do them. since i will get these when i can

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ ... s_id=25976

they are real nice and will allow for more air flow in and out of the case. another plus i may add.

i i think i will add 1 more coat to the case and then it will be time for the clear coat.

also i have to clean up my hose since i cant replace them all so i will make up the one i can and then really clean up the ones i cant.

so i was told to use plain vinegar and warm water and flush with distilled water. so it is off to the store for supples.

man it really looks good right now with just 4 layers of paint on it right now. but i will put 1 more on it and call it good to go. and then clear coat time.

i think i will get 1 more can of it to since i am down to my last can of it as it is.

i now have the 1 drive cage with drives in it and it does look nice. and the back plate of the case done to.

it has the mobo ps-2/usb/what ever else that goes out from the mobo plate is now mounted on it. and WOW it sure does look good.

havent taken any pics of it yet lol but i will soon once i get the case all done and put back together i will. then with everything back inside to there wil be even more pics.

but i will post some pic tonight but i have to get to the store as it is.

thanks for looking

Not sure what hoses you can and cannot replace, but do not forget some Hardware stores have a hose display of varying diameter and types.

Generally pretty cheap, 1 foot of hose to fix my windshield washer line was $0.25.

when it comes down to this. i wont use nothing else but i what i have all ready in use. since what most hardwares stores have are not intended for this kind of use. and since i have tygon 3606 hose i want to stay with that stuff since it is made to with stand certain things.

other that are into water cooling can inform you of this as well. since i am still a noob at this but i do know what to do and what not to do. since i did some read up on it before i got my feet wet sort of speak lol.

but i am off to the store for supply's nows.and i just took some pics of what is done right now but i have they are in the process of being uploaded while i am away.

and then the pci plate i made up for the switchs for my uv lights is now painted and has its 1st coat of clear on it.

well so far so good. now i will start to really clean out my hoses and radiator and water block.

which i will use the distilled vinegar and distilled water with. since i dont have the cash to buy new hose. i do have some new hose but not enough to replace it all.

i would rather replace it all at 1 time then just some of it.
